Accept reason: Unblocked, but I don't want to see any more vandals on the same IP address as you. That goes for logged-out edits, too. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:16, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

Page notability for prototypes + racing cars in general

Hey there. I came across a discussion page from a couple years ago where you mention standards of notability for sports prototypes, and I was curious about how you've been determining them. I've been trying to better understand notability standards for race cars and their eligibility for individual articles, however Wikipedia:Notability (vehicles) lacks anything discussing race cars specifically. It seems to be pretty inconsistent across the site, as well. I'm interested in contributing more but don't want to put effort into things we think are unnecessary, digging myself into a hole. I was wondering whether your view on this comes from specific guidelines, practices you've noticed, general precedent, etc.

On that topic, I previously wanted to expand upon the articles of various Group C and LMPs but found many of the pages (Ex: Spice SE88P) to be stubs created and edited largely by one person alone (Davism0703). I feel like more of these should be taken care of soon. I'd appreciate hearing your perspective on all of this. Thanks. OctaviaCombi (talk) 21:11, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

早上好OctaviaCombi, thanks for reaching out. I would like to apologise for the delayed response, I have been helping people move out as finals are now over. I understand your concerns. Personally, any car that achieved significant results (generally a podium), or is technologically significant (see Chaparral 2F), I warrant inclusion. You are right in that this Davism0703 is a significant contributor, however, this person tends not to add detail to the articles he creates, and like the BMW-March, it ends up at AfD, usually being merged as a paragraph or being deleted completely. I used to have a book back home about various Group C cars, alas, the Pacific Ocean stands between myself and the book. I generally think to myself that provided there is enough secondary coverage (WP:SIGCOV), then it'll be defensible at AfD. That's my modus operandi, anyhow. Now that I have more time between now and my internship, I might try get some stuff done. Let me know if you have any other questions. Best, X750 (Talk, Contributions) 15:21, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
