Vittorio De Sica (7 July 1901 – 13 November 1974) was an Italian filmmaker and actor. He became a popular leading actor in interwar Italy where he primarily performed in comedic roles. Shortly after the World War II, he became one of the major filmmakers of the neorealist movement (Neorealismo).[1] Four of his film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
