2026 IndyCar Series
Regarding the above-referenced page, in the table under the Schedule section, I had attemped to link each race under the Race name column to this year's respective article (e.g. 2026 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg). However, @Apeiro94 reverted back to the generic article (e.g. Grand Prix of St. Petersburg) per this edit, with the summary "this year’s race reports have been already linked in the results section, there is no need to link this year's races from this section". First of all, should readers be expected to refer to the last column in the table under the Results section to find links for this year's races, especially since the article is specifically about the 2026 season? If yes, then looking back at previous seasons' articles, it seems that only the Indianapolis 500 is linked to the specific year's page (i.e. 2025 IndyCar Series links "109th Running of the Indianapolis 500" to 2025 Indianapolis 500, not to Indianapolis 500). So, why is an exception being made for this one race? Assadzadeh (talk) 13:39, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
- Unless there are any objections, I will be reverting the links back to this year's respective articles. Assadzadeh (talk) 20:25, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Links have been reverted back to this year's respective articles. Assadzadeh (talk) 21:00, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
Indy/CART race articles needing attention
For the past week I have been tagging race articles that should (and some urgently need to) be improved. Such problems include unreferenced articles, articles with only one source, articles with no significant coverage, articles without any footnotes, and articles that only have primary sources. You can find the list of ~250 race articles here; it may take a while to load.
Here is another link to ~350 race articles that include any of the above problems as well as overcolored tables and articles that only need another source or two. I will start working on getting these improved, and I encourage y'all to do the same if you have the time!
Reminder that even though these races should meet notability requirements, make sure we are using at least two or three different reliable independent sources with significant coverage on every single race article. Ecourter (talk) 08:09, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
