Recreate space stations task force

Could we recreate Mir, ISS and Gateway task force as Mir, ISS and Tiangong task force now that Gateway is dead? Doeze (talk) 19:43, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

The old task force asserted it was a "child" of both Wikiproject Spaceflight and Wikipedia:WikiProject International relations. If the task force is resurrected in a similar form (as seems appropriate) it likely makes sense to do it after consultation with them. Which stations are in-scope? ISS obviously. Mir due to Shuttle-Mir. Has Tiangong been visited by a vehicle launched by another country? ( 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬  - talk) 01:47, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
I fail to see a reason to exclude strictly national stations, if such exist. However, I am also not seeing why such a task force would attract enough interest to make it thrive. Jim.henderson (talk) 06:46, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

Proposed addition of Astrobotic Peregrine article

PROMISE

Created a draft for PROMISE recently with some sources about its time as OPTIMISM and the current plans for potential launch, it's pending for AfC right now but any assistance with expanding the article would be appreciated! LonghairSpaceHistoryGuy (talk) 17:33, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

Just guessing, this draft might face concerns about independent notability of the subject. You might consider adding some material at Lunar rover#Proposed missions or in the table where that points. ( 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬  - talk) 21:24, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
I mean there are certainly a few independent sources. My strategy now is to keep the draft up and then expand it as more sources come out with mission developments.
I'll follow the advice for the Lunar rover#Proposed missions though, much appreciated! LonghairSpaceHistoryGuy (talk) 22:44, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
@LonghairSpaceHistoryGuy that article already exists. In solidarity Dafootballguy Want to talk? 04:31, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Yeah the article itself got made after the draft, have started contributing to that one LonghairSpaceHistoryGuy (talk) 14:05, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

VLS-1

Hello! In the last few days I had been adding a number of digitized Portuguse-language sources related with the 2003 VLS-1 V03 disaster. I'd like to leave it here, if anyone would like to give it a look and improve with anything. In the past I had created the VLS-1 V01 and VLS-1 V02 pages as well (it is frustrating the lack of good images the Commons could use). Erick Soares3 (talk) 00:14, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Mishandling ISS crews

Since the start of the US Commercial Crew program the Expeditions have been timed to begin and end with the Soyuz spacecraft. I think we are fundamentally mishandling the crew listings on the List of International Space Station expeditions page. Just as we didn't list the crew of Expedition 8 (Soyuz TMA-3) as part of Expedition 7 and 9, even though their Expedition overlapped, it makes no sense to list the crew of Soyuz MS-26 as part of Expedition 71. Thoughts? RickyCourtney (talk) 20:08, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

Are we somehow failing to correctly indicate when a new expedition starts? Isn't it when command of the station is transferred? Obviously that doesn't happen immediately upon arrival of the next commander. See: List of commanders of the International Space Station. ( 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬  - talk) 04:15, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
The Expeditions are timed with the departures of the Soyuz spacecraft. For example, the upcoming Expedition 75 will begin when Soyuz MS-28 departs. Since the current commander is part of the Soyuz MS-28 crew, he will hand over command a day or so before their departure that triggers the new Expedition.
Specifically, I am referring to the "handover period" between Soyuz crews. The crew of Soyuz MS-29 arrived about 10 days before MS-28's departure so the teams could transition their work. We have been counting the MS-29 crew as part of Expedition 74, even though they are only overlapping for about a week. In prior handover periods, we did not count incoming crews as part of the outgoing Expedition. RickyCourtney (talk) 21:47, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
