Production
In January 2026, Pakistani media reported that Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat had reunited for an untitled film, their first on-screen collaboration in eight years since Load Wedding (2018). The project was reported as a new collaboration between director Nabeel Qureshi and producer-writer Fizza Ali Meerza.[4]
On 9 April 2026, Fahad Mustafa announced the title Zombeid and said that a teaser for the film would be released ahead of its scheduled Eid al-Adha 2026 release.[1] The following day, the first poster was unveiled.[5] The film marks the fourth collaboration between Mustafa, Hayat, and Qureshi, after Na Maloom Afraad, Actor in Law, and Load Wedding.[5]
The first teaser was released in April 2026. Coverage of the teaser described the film as depicting a zombie outbreak and identified Babar Ali as appearing in the preview.[6][2]
