Étymologie
Le nom générique Acrochordonichthys est la combinaison en grec ancien de ἀκροχορδών (akrochordón), « verrue ou excroissance cutanée » et de ἰχθύς (ikhthús), « poisson », et fait référence à la peau tuberculée d’Acrochordonichthys rugosus[3].
