Ian Bent

Ian David Bent, né le à Birmingham, est un musicologue britannique.
Biographie
Ian Bent fait ses études au St John's College de Cambridge où il obtient son Bachelor en Arts en 1961 puis sont Bachelor de musique l'année suivante[1]. Il enseigne ensuite au King's College de Londres[1]. Il reçoit le titre de Docteur en philosophie en 1969 à l'Université de Cambridge[1]. En 1975, il est nommé professeur de musique à l'Université de Nottingham[1]. Avec son épouse Margaret Bent et Brian Trowell (en), il publie les œuvres révisées de John Dunstable chez Musica Britannica[1]. Il est aussi rédacteur conseiller du New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians[1].
