スチュアート・ホール

スチュアート・ホール（Stuart Hall, 1932年2月3日 - 2014年2月10日）は、ジャマイカ生まれのイギリスのマルクス主義社会学者、文化理論家。カルチュラル・スタディーズの代表的理論家。文化とメディア研究に貢献した。

略歴
ジャマイカのキングストンで生まれ、1951年にイングランドのブリストルに移る。その後、研究員としてオックスフォード大学のマートン・カレッジで学ぶ。バーミンガム大学で働いた後、バーミンガム大学のリサーチ・センターであるCentre for Contemporary Cultural Studiesで働くようになる。1960年にはニューレフト・レビューの創設者の一人[1]でもあった。
