ドン・マクリーン

ドン・マクリーン（Don McLean、1945年10月2日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国のシンガーソングライター。「アメリカン・パイ」「ヴィンセント」などの楽曲で知られる。「アンド・アイ・ラブ・ユー・ソー」はペリー・コモ、エルヴィス・プレスリーなど数多くの音楽家にカバーされた。
ニューヨーク州ニューロッシェルに生まれる。両親はイタリアアブルッツォ州の出身者だった[1]。15歳のときに父親を亡くす。ピート・シーガーに師事した。
1970年10月、ファースト・アルバム『Tapestry』を発表。
1971年10月、セカンド・アルバム『American Pie』を発表。収録曲のひとつ「アメリカン・パイ」は8分31秒もあったが[2]、A面とB面にわけてシングルカットされ、全米1位を記録した。1972年2月にはフィンセント・ファン・ゴッホに捧げた曲である「ヴィンセント」がシングルカットされ、イギリス、アイルランド、イタリアなどで1位を記録した。
2022年6月、児童書『American Pie: A Fable』を出版した。
