Wahlkreis Bognor Regis and Littlehampton

Bognor Regis and Littlehampton ist ein Wahlkreis (englisch constituency) in der Grafschaft Berkshire im Südosten Englands, der einen Abgeordneten ins britische Unterhaus (House of Commons) entsendet. Er besteht seit 2010 und liegt im Arun District. Bedeutende Orte im Wahlkreis sind Bognor Regis, Felpham, Littlehampton, Middleton-on-Sea, Pagham und Yapton.

Geschichte
Die Boundary Commission for England schuf den Wahlkreis im Hinblick auf die Unterhauswahl 1997. Er entstand aus Teilen des aufgelösten Wahlkreises Arundel.
Der Wahlkreis umfasst folgende Gebiete:
- 1997–2010: im Arun District die Wards Aldwick East, Aldwick West, Bersted, Felpham East, Felpham West, Hotham, Littlehampton Beach, Littlehampton Central, Littlehampton Ham, Littlehampton River, Littlehampton Wick, Marine, Middleton-on-Sea, Orchard, Pagham und Pevensey[2]
- 2010–2024: im Arun District die Wards Aldwick East, Aldwick West, Beach, Bersted, Brookfield, Felpham East, Felpham West, Ham, Hotham, Marine, Middleton-on-Sea, Orchard, Pagham & Rose Green, Pevensey, River, Wick with Toddington und Yapton[3]
- seit 2024: im Arun District die Wards Aldwick East, Aldwick West, Beach, Brookfield, Courtwick with Toddington, Felpham East (größter Teil), Felpham West, Hotham, Marine, Middleton-on-Sea, Orchard, Pevensey, River, Rustington East, Rustington West und Yapton[4]
Erster Abgeordneter war Nick Gibb von der Conservative Party, der sechsmal die Wiederwahl schaffte und dabei den Wähleranteil auf mehr als 60 Prozent ausbaute. In den Regierungen von David Cameron, Theresa May und Boris Johnson amtierte er als Bildungsminister. 2024 kandidierte Gibb nicht mehr; seine Nachfolge trat Alison Griffiths an, die trotz einer Beinahe-Halbierung des Wähleranteils knapp den Sitz für die Konservativen verteidigen konnte.
