The 1968 World University Wrestling Championships was the inaugural edition of the World University Wrestling Championships and was held in Istanbul, Turkey, in July 1968.[1] The championship began at Mithatpaşa Stadium on 13 July, lasted two days, and ended with Bulgaria finishing first and Turkey second in the team standings.[2][3][4] The official results sheet lists the placings in eight weight classes and the team points of the six participating nations.[5]
