Elections to South Cambridgeshire District Council were held on Thursday 5 May 2022[1] as part of the 2022 United Kingdom local elections. All forty five seats were up for election in twenty six wards. The Liberal Democrats were defending the council, having won control in 2018.[2][3]

As of February 2026, the composition of the Council is Lib Dem = 34. Con = 9, Ind = 1, Vacant = 1.

Five Lib Dem councillors have resigned. One to sit as an independent. Three led to by-elections from which two Lib Dems and one Conservative were returned. One seat is vacant.

One Conservative sat as an independent for a while before rejoining the party.

One Lib Dem councillor died, and the Lib Dems held the ward at the by-election.
