Life and career
Her career began at the age of 16 on local radio stations in Tuscany.[1][2] Between 1979 and 1980, Anna Pettinelli briefly played the role of Signorina Buonasera for the then-new Rete 3 network (now Rai 3). In the 1980s, she became known to the general public through her hosting of television programs on RAI networks: from 1982 to 1987, she hosted the music program Discoring created by Gianni Boncompagni, as well as two editions of the Sanremo Music Festival and two editions of Un disco per l'estate during the same period.[3][4][5] She later returned to radio, becoming a regular host of RDS programs.[6]
From 2000 to 2001, she hosted the late-night talk show Sesso, parla le donne on Telemontecarlo, featuring an all-female studio (moderator, guests, and audience). In 2009, she participated as a commentator on the fourth edition of the reality show La fattoria, hosted by Paola Perego.[7] In 2014, she took part as a judge and coach on RDS Academy, a talent show for aspiring radio presenters.[8] In 2016, she was a commentator on Pomeriggio Cinque, hosted by Barbara D'Urso. In 2019, she participated in Maria De Filippi's program Temptation Island VIP, hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi, paired with her then-partner Stefano Macchi.[9] She was then hired as a singing teacher on Maria De Filippi's talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, replacing Alex Britti in the nineteenth season,[10] and participated in the spin-off Amici speciali as a representative of RDS.[11]
Since September 2020, she has appeared as a commentator on the Rai 1 television program La vita in diretta," hosted by journalist Alberto Matano. In November of the same year, she returned to Maria De Filippi's Amici in her new role as singing teacher, a role she subsequently retained in 2021, 2023 (after a one-off appearance), and 2024.
Among other activities, she has starred in the films Sapore di mare 2 - Un anno dopo (1983) and Forever Young" (2016), and published the humorous book Teorie e tecniche dell'infamia amorosa (2010), co-written with David De Filippi.[11]
