Chaos Reef

Shoal in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chaos Reef is an area of breakers and turbulent water created by a series of underwater shoals in the north extremity of the Aitcho Islands group on the west side of English Strait in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The area was visited by early 19th-century sealers operating from nearby Clothier Harbour.[1] Following a survey by the 1949 Chilean Antarctic Expedition, the feature was resurveyed and descriptively named from HMS Protector in 1967.
