Comment: It's a pity that this is stalled. The company is obviously WP:N, so it's rather silly that we can't get at least a short, stubby article over the line. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 11:39, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Comment: Several statements have no reference. Consider translating information from and using references from that article (see WP:Copying within Wikipedia). -- Reconrabbit 14:34, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Comment: No sources. GoldRomean (talk) 13:07, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
Comment: Most of the references is directly related to the topic. Fade258 (talk) 09:36, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
Comment: "See German Wikipedia article." Please remove the sentence, and I encourage you to translate the German Wikipedia's section into the draft instead. Way too many unsourced statements in my opinion, along with bunch of spammy links that has been removed. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 03:18, 21 February 2025 (UTC)

Company history

Together with Hans List, several engine researchers founded the IBL (Ingenieurbüro List). The diesel engines from 1949 were already being mass-produced at the Jenbacher Werke in Tyrol and at the Andritzer Maschinenfabrik in Graz. In 1951, the IBL became the AVL, the "Anstalt für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen List" (Institute for Combustion Engines List).
In the 1970s, the AVL List launched fully automatic test beds, capsule technology for engine sound insulation, DI diesel engines for passenger car applications and a LD light diesel engine. In 1979, Helmut List, son of the company's founder Hans List, who had worked for the company since 1966, took over as chairman of the board of management.
Since then, AVL List expanded with further company locations and spin-offs in China and Europe.[1]
2020: Collaboration in an 1.000-km-battery-development-project.[2]
2023: Cooperation with Tongji University and feasibility study focused on developing a Fuel Cell System for heavy-duty trucks.[3][4]
2024: Acquisition of Piezocryst Advanced Sensorics GmbH ("Piezocryst" or the "Company") from AVL List GmbH (AVL).[5]
