Masud Alam is a Bangladeshi police officer who is currently serving as the Superintendent of Police of Chattogram district.[1] He assumed office in May 2026. He previously worked as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.[2][3]

Early life and education
Alam was born in Bogura, Bangladesh. He completed his graduation from University of Dhaka.[4][5]
Career
Masud started his policing career as an officer of the 28th BCS (Police) batch.[6] His first posting was in Dinajpur district, after which he served as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Pabna and worked with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Jhenaidah.[7] [8]Subsequently, he climbed to the rank of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).[9] In DMP he was involved in handling several major law-and-order situations in Dhaka.[10][11][12]
In 2025, He was elected as the general secretary of 28th BCS Police Association.[13]
