Ramayana: Part 1 is an upcoming Indian epic mythological action-adventure film, serving as the first installment of a planned two-part cinematic adaptation of the ancient Hindu epic, Ramayana, by Valmiki. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studious and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the film is one of the most ambitious and most expensive films ever made in Indian cinema.^[1] It stars an ensemble cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol. It is the Hindi film debut of Kannada actor Yash.

Ramayana: Part 1 is expected to set the stage for the epic conflict by focusing on the early life of the Hindu diety Rama, his marriage to Sita, and the events leading to their exile for fourteen continuous year. The film introduces it's main leads, including Ravana, whose origin story is also featured, and builds up to the eventual conflict. The overall story is the immortal battle of good versus evil : Rama versus Ravana.
