SPAN (1996–1997)

In 1996, Radhakrishnan co-founded the Society for the Protection of Animals and Nature (SPAN) in Thane, Maharashtra, alongside Shakuntala Majumdar. SPAN was formally registered under the Maharashtra Societies Registration Act in January 1997 (Registration No. MAHA 78/97, Thane) and operated a free veterinary clinic for stray animals.^[3]

Shakuntala Majumdar, Radhakrishnan's co-founder at SPAN, went on to establish the Thane Community for the Protection and Care of Animals (Thane CPCA) and received the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India's highest civilian honour for women, awarded by the President of India.^[4]

Blue Cross of India

Radhakrishnan serves as Honorary Joint Secretary and Board Member of the Blue Cross of India (BCI), a Chennai-based animal welfare charity established in 1959 and one of India's largest animal welfare organisations.^[5][6] In this role, he has been involved in BCI's rescue, adoption, animal birth control, and humane education programmes.

In 2011, he received the Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer award from Animals Asia Foundation at the inaugural Asia for Animals Conference awards in Chengdu, China. This award was recorded in the BCI's 50th Annual Report (2013–14).^[5]

Radhakrishnan has been featured in and quoted in press coverage of BCI activities on multiple occasions. In a feature article titled "PET cause" published in The Hindu's MetroPlus supplement, journalist Kausalya Santhanam reported on young volunteers at BCI, with Dr. S. Chinny Krishna citing Radhakrishnan by name as an example of dedicated volunteerism — noting that he had left a high-flying corporate job and set up his own business specifically to devote time to the organisation.^[7] In July 2011, the Mylapore Times reported on a BCI adoption camp at C. P. Art Centre, Eldams Road, Chennai, quoting him in his capacity as Hon. Joint Secretary.^[8] He was also quoted in the New Indian Express in May 2011 in connection with a BCI adoption drive,^[9] and again in August 2016 regarding BCI's crowdfunding initiative for Chennai's first dedicated animal crematorium.^[10]

FIAPO

Radhakrishnan serves as an Advisor to the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO), an umbrella body uniting over 200 animal protection organisations across India.^[1]

Hindustan Motors

In the early 2000s, Radhakrishnan served as Area Sales Manager for Tamil Nadu at Hindustan Motors, responsible for regional sales and launches of the HM RTV vehicle range across Coimbatore, Salem, Trichy, and other Tamil Nadu cities. His work during this period was covered in Tamil-language publications including Dhina Mani and Salem Mavatta Seithigal.^[2][11]

Eventures

In 2010, Radhakrishnan founded Eventures, a Chennai-based event management company specialising in large-format corporate events, conferences, annual days, product launches, and exhibitions.^[12] The company has worked with multinational corporations and financial institutions across India.
