The municipality lies at an altitude of 475 metres (1,558 ft)^[2] and covers an area of 15.52 km² (5.99 sq mi) (2025).^[4]

It has a population of 896 people (31 December 2025).^[6]

In year 2021 was 871 people by ethnicity 855 as Slovak, 21 as Not found out, 8 as Romani, 7 as Czech, 1 as Italian, 1 as Rusyn, 1 as Russian and 1 as Other.
