Meclis is an underground station on the M5 line of the Istanbul Metro.[2][3] It is located under Gelincik Street in the Meclis neighbourhood of Sancaktepe. It was opened on 16 March 2024 with the M5 line extension from Çekmeköy to Samandıra Merkez.[1]
On 3 December 2021, TBM-1 reached the station and completed its excavation.[4] On 18 January 2022, TBM-1 completed its excavation by reaching the TBM shaft between Meclis and Çekmeköy stations.[5] On 19 October 2022, the first rail welding ceremony of the 3rd stage of the line was held on the TBM shaft. At this ceremony, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu stated that the progress rate of the 3rd stage has reached 65%.[6] On 4 May 2023, the first test drive was carried out with the test train departing from Çekmeköy, heading to Meclis and Sarıgazi stations, the electrification of which was completed.[7]
