Location

Samandıra Merkez is an underground station on the M5 line of the Istanbul Metro.[2][3] It is located under Osmangazi Street in the Osmangazi neighbourhood of Sancaktepe. It was opened on 16 March 2024 with the M5 line extension from Çekmeköy to Samandıra Merkez, and currently serves as the eastern terminus of the line before the extension to Sultanbeyli opens on 19 May 2026.[1]

TBM-3, which started tunneling from Sancaktepe Station on 12 February 2022, reached this station on 20 June 2022.[4] The TBM then continued tunneling towards Veysel Karani on 1 March 2023.[5]
