2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic states → 2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic states and Finland – See the discussion below; Finland isn't a Baltic state. Compare this with article titles like Political terror in Finland and Baltic States after World War I (which, incidentally, also contains an error in its title, since the described political terror in Finland happened during WWI, so a better title for that would be Political terror in Finland and the Baltic states during and after World War I.) ~2026-29802-18 (talk) 10:50, 19 May 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. {{GearsDatapacks|talk|contribs}} 13:18, 26 May 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 13:32, 2 June 2026 (UTC)

Previous discussion

maybe this article should be moved to something else since finland isn't considered to be baltic? Warpfrz (talk) 11:42, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

Yes. Maybe 2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic states and Finland or 2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic region (Baltic region includes Finland)? ~2026-29260-04 (talk) 10:25, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
I support the Baltic region suggestion more as 2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic States and Finland is a mouthful. Grilledcheeseisgreat ✉ 12:40, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Baltic region also includes Saint Petersburg, however. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 06:37, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
It doesn't have to hit every square inch of the Baltic region to have "Baltic region" in the title. Grilledcheeseisgreat ✉ 12:42, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose "Baltic region" proposal. Ukraine has struck the Saint Petersburg area multiple times, and none of those strikes have articles of their own. This article is notable because it deals with spillover into other countries. I believe the length of the "Baltic states and Finland" proposal is not that unconvenient and makes up in recognizability and precision. Super Ψ Dro 14:08, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
These are about accidental Ukrainian drones in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland. It does not cover strikes on Russia. Grilledcheeseisgreat ✉ 15:14, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Support the original proposal with "Baltic states and Finland". Oppose "Baltic region" since it would suggest a different scope. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 01:47, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
Oppose. For some drones, there are not much information to asssume they were Ukraininian. Sometimes even for being "presumely Ukrainian" it is diffucult to find a source. So I would recommend using Ukrainian in the title. According to this logic, we could not list indicents with unclear origin of the drone. But I agree that "Baltic states and Finland" would be better then it it right now. ~2026-30863-03 (talk) 21:35, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
Dropping "Ukranian" would be fine, it would also make the title shorter. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 23:27, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
For what reason should Ukraine be excluded from the name if these were Ukrainian drones? There's a related article that uses "Russia" in the title - 2025 Russian drone incursion into Poland. AlexeyKhrulev (talk) 05:59, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Is it necessary to specify it? Have there been any other drone incursions to any of the countries in question in 2026? Even without "Ukrainian", the title would be WP:precise enough to determine the topic. WP:concision is one of the criteria. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 06:46, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Agree. There is confusion about the origin of the drones in some incidents, and the article's title makes it seem as if this is some targeted campaign by Ukraine against the Baltics or as if all the drones have been confirmed to be of Ukrainian origin. Oakchris1955 (talk) 14:46, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 7 June 2026

I uploaded some images from the LT-alert system, so feel free to add some of them to illustrate what happened in Lithuania on 20 May. Thank you. https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:ListFiles/Karolis_1989&ilshowall=1 Karolis 1989 (talk) 14:35, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Happy editing, Slomo666 (talk) 14:15, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
I recommend adding this in the Lithuania section:
One out of three cell broadcast warning message sent using the LT-alert system in Lithuania on May 20, 2026, at about 10:23 local time. Offical English version is: "The Lithuanian Armed Forces inform: “AIR RAID WARNING. Immediately head to a shelter or a safe place, take care of those around you and wait for further instructions. You will receive a separate notice, when the danger is over.” For more information visit www.lt72.lt."

Unfortunately, I can't really decide if this is necessary or not, so I will tag User:FarSouthNavy so he can be made aware of this proposal. Aside from a bold edit:
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before posting an edit request.
happy editing, --Slomo666 (talk) 16:55, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
Hi! Personally I am not opposed to the use of any of Alert System captures, but the issue here is whether theses images uploaded to commons are copyright-free or not, since the text, even if generic, could have some personal input or authorship, not to mention the designer of the software. Regarding the request of protection (?) I am total clueless on what is the point, but anyway, and in spite of my seniority (both in day-by-day life and here in Wikipedia ;), I am not an administrator so I can't deal with that. Darius (talk) 00:16, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Protection? I tagged you mostly because I was hoping you might know about this page to make an editorial decision. (relevance of the illustration) I concur with the copyright concerns, although I think it is unlikely to actually be an issue. Sorry if I overwhelmed or bothered you with this.
If anyone thinks page protection is needed, or not needed, that would be requested at RfPP. Slomo666 (talk) 22:30, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

Requested move 17 September 2026

2026 Ukrainian drone incursions into the Baltic states and Finland → 2026 drone incursions into the Baltic states and Finland – Now that the most recent incident involved a Russian drone, this article should be renamed accordingly. Alin2808 (talk) 06:48, 17 September 2026 (UTC)

Support. Apart from the Lithunian incident , a Russian surveying drone was also found in Finland: . Jähmefyysikko (talk) 06:52, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
Support, not just because the September incident in Lithuania, but also because most Ukrainian drones entering neutral airspace were almost certainly redirected by Russian electronic warfare. Darius (talk) 10:49, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
Support per all three arguments above! Lova Falk (talk) 14:41, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
