Aerodyne and Aerostat
The article doesn't explain the terms aerodyne and aerostat (sp?); I guess maybe the difference is analogous to the difference between dynamic and static stability in control theory? -- the dynamic version only achieves lift dynamically, but the latter version has lift statically, or intrinsically? Vacuum airship/ balloon
I would also note the possibility of vacuum aerostats. A rigid aerostat could use a vacuum chamber for lift, while a semi-rigid aerostat (partly) could. In these contexts, vacuum refers to lower pressure than ambient. 174.103.211.175 (talk) 00:18, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- As far as I'm aware, there have been no successful attempts to create a vacuum airship. I think it's probably best to leave out hypothetical aircraft like this until the concept is proven by an example being successfully flown. - ZLEA T\C 01:08, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
