Please would an interested editor assess the material added at User:Rgk50/Aragonese language in 2021, incorporate what is useful into the live article, blank the user page as WP:FAKEARTICLE, and leave a note here when done? – Fayenatic London 14:57, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Chuck Haberl: you assessed it with full marks on its talk page; perhaps you might like to merge such good work, so that it is not wasted? – Fayenatic London 15:01, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
No native words with initial R?
The article states (citing a source about Basque) that Aragonese has no native words with initial R. However, there are words: radiz, rayo, razón, recibir, reconeixer, royo... Are they non-native? Burzuchius (talk) 09:36, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- Considering that the Orthography section specifies that /r/ is represented in writing as "r" word-initially, and given the number of native words (including the ones you listed, which are, yes, native) that begin with "r", that seems nonsensical. What doesn't occur word-initially is /ɾ/.
- Even besides that, the comparison, at least the one with Basque, wouldn't have been useful, amounting to "This language lacks feature X, and, by the way, here's a completely unrelated language that lack feature X." And then the source is only about Basque but has no information related to the claim with regard to Aragonese. Largoplazo (talk) 12:45, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- The statement about the lack of r- must be a mistake. If it refers to /ɾ/ instead, then it's shared with Spanish and Catalan. --Jotamar (talk) 21:33, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- And the ref doesn't even include a page number. I don't see alternatives to deleting the statement, so I proceed. --Jotamar (talk) 23:46, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
