Requested move 24 December 2025
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move reviewafter discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
It was proposed in this section that multiple pages be renamed and moved.
result: Moved proposal #2. We see below that editors agree that the band should be parenthetically dabbed. No agreement is seen below to make the song the PTOPIC, so a dab page will be created at the base name. Thanks and kudos to editors for your input; everyone stayhealthy!P.I.Ellsworth,ed.–welcome!–12:56, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
– WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, there is absolutely no reason why a tribute band with the same name should have their article be the primary topic. The song itself holds more long-term significance ("Badfish song" garners more Google hits than "Badfish band"), and is in fact where the tribute band got their name from. WP:LTS clearly applies here. Support, clearly the primary topic of "Badfish". Also move the band to Badfish (band) as a result of this. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 04:26, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
Support now that the song both has an article and that article is defensible from a notability standpoint. Chubbles (talk) 06:15, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
Note to closer: added moves of related pages. Please make sure seven days have passed before closing. Rotideypoc41352 (talk·contribs) 20:24, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
If you ask me, SMALLDETAILS applies here. Others can chime in, but I think "Badfish" vs. "Bad Fish" are their own distinct topics, and have little (if any) bearing on what the primary topic is in one versus the other. JeffSpaceman (talk) 00:25, 25 December 2025 (UTC)
I'll self-revert my addition of the film and move it separately. Thanks and cheers, Rotideypoc41352 (talk·contribs) 03:15, 25 December 2025 (UTC)
Support 2nd, the band has 401 views but the song has 638[] but maybe a DAB would be best? Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Create a two-way DAB at Badfish. Neither the band nor the song satisfies the criteria of primary. Andrewa (talk) 21:15, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Actually, I think that might work best. I just didn't see any reason why the tribute band named after the song should be the primary topic. JeffSpaceman (talk) 21:55, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
