In the "perpetrator" section, there is a spelling mistake that says "practised" instead of "practiced". Flamedcube65 (talk) 02:56, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

Not done: 'Practised' is the appropriate NZ spelling. 'Practiced' is American spelling.-Gadfium (talk) 03:02, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

New infobox images?

There was a debate last month about including the Linwood Islamic Centre image in the infobox, I went ahead and made it a switcher to make everyone happy. After that, I thought about the images in the infobox, and I feel like having an image/images other than the site of the attacks would be great, and a better representation of the event as a whole and the impact it had. I think having images of the aftermath of the attack and the memorials would be much better than just two images of the mosques, I made a proof of concept on my sandbox if you guys want to share feedback. • Oppose: The infobox should not be overloaded with images and this looks cluttered. The current layout is ok.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 06:51, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose: The current long standing image is good and should stay. You may be well meaning but you are missing the point of an ibx image which is to represent the article in some way, not to represent as much of the detail in the article as possible. The current image of the mosque does just that and has been used elsewhere as the image of the event, so people associate that mosque image with the events of the day, not just the shootings at that mosque. • One image of the Al Noor Mosque, as I said previously when you search for the attacks that is the image that comes up, most deaths were there and its recognised with the attack for most people. MOS:LEADIMAGE states It is common for an article's lead or infobox to carry a representative image—such as of a person or place, a book or album cover—to give readers visual confirmation that they've arrived at the right page.. An image of the Linwood mosque can be included in the body but isn't necessary in the lead and I oppose the current method of having a switching button, as most people won't use it or will have javascript disabled and will see two images.
