Hi AnthonyTheGuy! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Raskuly (talk) 05:59, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'll keep that in mind, thanks! AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 00:39, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
Discord
Why have you reached out to me on Discord? I almost just blocked you because I thought you were someone random. My Discord isn't linked anywhere on my user page so you searched for me, presumably. If you want to discuss Wikipedia-related things, my talk page is for that. I'm not open for discussion off-platform. Raskuly (talk) 00:45, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- I had two questions, one just about Wikipedia and one for you, sorry if i came off weird lol AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 01:31, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, what are your questions? Raskuly (talk) 01:43, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- First one was just about US:MOS, but the other question was about why you devote so much of your time on gun violence even when you find it depressing to do so. I'm very passionate about gun violence & gun control as well and seeing your goal hit personally for me so I was just curious
- I just thought it'd be a bit weird to have a conversation through the Wikipedia talk page, sorry AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 02:12, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- First: MOS:US says that "US" should be used instead of "U.S." in articles, except in older articles where it has already been established in. 2026 Cedarbluff shootings is a new article (or post-current MOS:US guidelines) therefore US should be used instead of U.S. I actually prefer "U.S." over US, but that is the consensus.
- Second: When I was in high school, I had to report a school shooting threat, and about a week afterward the Parkland high school shooting happened. I remember coming home from school the day it happened and just sitting in my bedroom watching the news just dumbfounded. I was still mentally coping with what happened at my school. From that moment onwards, I became very passionate about the topic of gun violence in the United States, and I think Wikipedia's coverage of the topic hammers home the extent of the issue and how it is primarily a U.S. issue–and I think only radical legislative (or constitutional) change could reverse this. Currently, I think the United States just keeps putting Dora the Explorer bandages over gaping wounds–even in states where gun laws are stricter.
- I hope that having good coverage of the topic from a WP:NPOV lens might eventually lead others to a similar conclusion. I find it disrespectful to the victims when articles about these incidents are poorly written or focus too much on the perpetrators/suspects. A lot of old Wikipedia articles about these topics were written in the form of biographies of the perps rather than overviews of the incident. For an especially egregious example of this, see this old revision of the 2007 Neosho church shooting article. But, at the same time, I dislike writing about it. I much prefer writing about soccer. Raskuly (talk) 02:49, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, what are your questions? Raskuly (talk) 01:43, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
Rename
Read your bio, you can request a name change at WP:RENAME. Raskuly (talk) 01:24, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- I tried a couple years ago ago, but I'll go look again. Thx! AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 01:31, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
Let’s talk
Hello, You recently disagreed with some changes I made to the pronouns being used for the Tumbler Ridge shooter. Please come to the main article’s talk space and participate in the talk there where I’m stating my points and asking everyone to state their opinions. Thanks Kikiriwiki (talk) 06:27, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Look whatever you think of the shooter personally, I don’t really care, but Wikipedia has rules for gender identity that need to be followed regardless of you personal beliefs. Also, don’t go on peoples personal talk page for discussions like this and just use the article’s talk page. AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 13:55, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

Strikethrough old comments on move discussions
Hey AnthonyTheGuy, please strikethrough (Template:Strikethrough) your old comments if you change your mind during a move discussion (or in other discussions like AfDs). It makes it easier for the closer to judge consensus. Raskuly (talk) 23:43, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

Sorry if this is like strange. I dunno if talk pages can be used for casual convo...???? I'm new here so I dunno ;-; Just wanted to say thanks for editing the virginia beach shooting page. It is like... From my home town and have a personal connection to the event, so thanks for preserving the page. <3 Also I just fw your page and your userboxes lmao C3PHAL0BR0P0D (talk) 14:46, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks! All I did was add the address to the building lol, don't think I added too much.
- My former hometown of Glendale was also affected by a school shooting in 2016. The city I live in, Springfield, was also affected by a school shooting in 1998, so this topic hits close to home for me as well.
- Thanks for the compliment on my infoboxes, I also really like them lol. AnthonyTheGuy (talk) 23:16, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
