Obvious missing thing
It seems a little weird that there are lists of licensed and other appearances and parodies and all, but no list of actual appearances in the show, perhaps marking which ones are Dalek-centric stories (The Daleks, Genesis of the Daleks, etc.) and which are cameos or incidental appearances (like the dead one in The Space Museum, or when all the Doctor's enemies arrive in The Pandorica Opens) 2601:1C2:5000:1472:BC41:413C:8064:C97E (talk) 09:03, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- The list is sort of present in the fictional history section but there is a navbox at the bottom (not visible in mobile view unfortunately) to all the TV appearances. GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:34, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz
I was looking at the Non-Doctor Who Cameo appearances section, and found a lack of the time when a Dalek read out a question on The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz, shown on Channel 4 on the 2nd January 2015. Should we include this, becuase I think we should. WikiFan2456 (talk) 19:22, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Origins of the word.
So in my reading I found another UK author who actually penned the term Dalek as a term for androids in 1957 in the opening of the book "The Uncertain Midnight" by Edmund Cooper. The text reads: "These benevolent daleks are more intelligent, more amusing, more likeble, more human than the effete descendants of their original creators."
Apparently the book sold very well in the UK on release in 1958, so it seems oddly specific for a name in a book he might very well have read and since he admits to lying once about the origins, I have to wonder if this is actully the source but Terry Nation didn't want to risk a copyright risk? IDK. Quite odd and probably worth some research. BcRIPster (talk) 01:47, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Ballet style
Regarding this...
- He was also inspired by a performance by the Georgian National Ballet, in which dancers in long skirts appeared to glide across the stage
I don't have access to the cited source [Howe (1997), p. 80] and I assume that it does indeed specify the Georgian National Ballet, but let me point out that the troupe most associated with the relevant style is the Beryozka. I wonder if Howe's 1997 source has misremembered the name after a gap of over 30 years. On the other hand, possibly at some time between 1948 and 1964 the Georgian National Ballet picked up the technique from the Beryozka. It might be possible to work out which of the two groups had performed live or on television in the UK in the relevant period. In any case it would be nice if there were some article or section in Category:Dance technique describing the relevant style, which this article could then link to. jnestorius(talk) 12:22, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
