Company name - MOTION TO USE THE REAL NAME.
Despite the "reasonable" justification to preserve the camel case spelling to help people pronounce the name of the company corrrectly, many people get confused about the REAL name of the company. We can get the same effect by adding a phonetic transcription of the name of the company (as it is done for other WP articles) instead of having a WRONG name for a WP article.
It is registered as DIRECTV, LLC. (https://publicfiles.fcc.gov/dbs-profile/directv/), and the official web site always spells it as DIRECTV (as of now). I cannot tell if, at some point in the past, it was spelled as DirecTV but, even if that was the case (no pun intended), it would be outdated. So, it doesn't make any sense to be so stubborn.
I know for sure this article is extremely misleading. Thanks to WP, lots of people (including me) thought WP was right. Some people who now work for DIRECTV, were confused, too and, as part of their training, they found out that WP is wrong.
We, as contributors, cannot let our reputation be hurt. We must strive to be ACCURATE.
Thanks!

DirecTV History section dysfunction
The DirecTV section under the History kind of runs between product offerings and ownership and acquisitions. It's a little "long in the tooth" now without any clear division. I am breaking it into two sections, the regular, unnamed section and a new "ownership" sub-section within it. I will not be changing any of the existing content, refs, etc as I do it. Please feel free to adjust it, revert it, change section names, etc. I really think it needs done. Like I said, no content is being changed. P37307 (talk) 04:35, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
