Disagreement at Talk:List of The Legend of Vox Machina episodes#Season 4 about whether or not to reveal upcoming episodes when the only sourced details are episode titles & release dates. There isn't clear guidance on MOS:TV (MOS:TVEPISODE, MOS:TVUPCOMING, etc) but I've often seen episodes hidden because those two columns don't hit the threshold of enough detail and vice versa where editors have argued more than one column is the threshold for unreleased episodes. Is there a clear consensus on this that I've missed? Thanks! Sariel Xilo (talk) 19:07, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

It depends on the circumstance. As a general rule, having two pieces of information beyond the air date is what's considered an acceptable time to add/show in the table. However, in an instance like at Vox Machina as linked, where you have source episode title and air dates in sequential order, then that's fine to show in the table. But say (as of this comment) episode 3 was the last to release, but you only had confirmed titles for episodes 8 and 11, that wouldn't be an instance where they should be shown in the table. As another unrelated example, it would be okay to show the first row for a future show if you know the director, writer(s), and air date, but if for future episodes you only have the writers, then noting who was writing which episodes would be better served in prose below the table. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:07, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

There is currently a discussion at Talk:Doctor Who#-present or -2025?, as to whether we list the series as –present or –2025, based on recent news of the series effectively going on hiatus while the series has been put out to competitive tender. WP:TV has always has a one-year buffer period for any show with an ambigious future – does that also apply here? I would say so.

Per the documentation at Template:Infobox television, for the "last_aired" parameter: "In some cases the fate of a program might be uncertain, for example if there are no announcements that a show has been renewed. If such a program has not aired a new episode in 12 months, "present" can be changed to the date the last episode aired, using {{End date}}. This does not imply the series has been cancelled, rather that the program "last aired" on that date. This is to prevent programs from being listed as "present" in perpetuity." -- Alex _talk 21:20, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
