Hi @750h+, I've reworked the section in my sandbox (where I've pinged you), and since it is a pretty bold edit I wanted to check first with you to see if you find any issues. I think it would work better to rename it "Acting style and reception" and move the paragraph about Reality Bites to the career section, since it doesn't really fit with all other paragraphs that deal with his career as a whole, not a specific period. Also I've got a few options for possible quotes, but I'm not sure which one provides more insight or best represents the section, so let me know your opinion. If you're okay with it, I'll check once again the references to be sure all is properly sourced and then add to the article. Poirot09 (talk) 12:05, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
I'll leave a few comments if I can soon (it looks great at first glance), and I don't think we need more than one quote. Just asking, what's with the paragraph at the top? Is that going in? 750h+ 22:53, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
Hey, no the section at the top is the one about Reality Bites that I was thinking of moving to the career section, per the reasons above. About the quotes, I meant that the one about artistic integrity could eventually be replaced with one of the other two below. Poirot09 (talk) 09:10, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote that response, I completely misinterpreted what you said, sorry about that. I'm leaning towards the GQ quote (second would probably be the Los Angeles Times); it's IMO the best and most concise of the lot, and comes from Hawke himself. And the paragraph can fit in the career section, i'm just not sure about anything post "He was conflicted about fame...". 750h+ 23:56, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
That sentence about fame could be removed yeah, but I think the one about choosing to refuse roles in big-budget Hollywood films should be kept since I found the info in a lot of refs, both interviews with him and collaborators (even Gwyneth Paltrow randomly praised him for that lol) and third-party articles about his career. It could be reworded, though rn I'm not sure how. Poirot09 (talk) 09:03, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
Ah that's fine then. I don't see too much wrong with the sentence, what makes you think it needs to be reworded? 750h+ 19:32, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
I wasn't sure it would flow well after removing the "fame" sentence, but now that I'm seeing it I think it works. Btw I've removed the "fame" sentence and the other possible quotes. Poirot09 (talk) 09:44, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi @750h+, did you get a chance to look at it? Poirot09 (talk) 09:25, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
@Poirot09: sorry for the late responses, just been moving around a bit. Are you referring to the Reality Bites paragraph? 750h+ 02:42, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
No, I was referring to the Screen persona and reception section, but don't worry, take your time. For the Reality Bites paragraph, I'll go ahead and incorporate it in the main article as soon as I can, since I fixed the issues mentioned. Poirot09 (talk) 14:24, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
Ah okay that's great. I read the paragraphs in full and it's looking pretty good; everything flows really smoothly. My main quip is "Hawke has received several lifetime achievement awards honoring his eclectic career that encompasses film, television, theater, and literary work." here. It's a pretty random spot to put it isn't it? especially with the fact that the following sentences explain more on his acting style 750h+ 01:58, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
I thought that it would be a good way to introduce a paragraph about the reception of his career as a whole, across different mediums. I have reorganized the paragraph to try to make it flow a bit better, see if it works now. Poirot09 (talk) 13:42, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
@750h+ I've expanded the section since I think most issues, including the last one you mentioned, have been fixed. Poirot09 (talk) 22:07, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

Hawke is a distant cousin of playwright Tennessee Williams.[11] - this was on his daughters wiki bio. ~2026-88234-9 (talk) 08:26, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
