North Cove Marina and Brookfield Place
Is North Cove Marina considered part of the Brookfield Place (New York City) complex? Should it be included in that category and the related World Trade Center infobox?

Reviving the monthly collaboration project focused on NYC
Beginning in May 2021, members of WikiProject New York City and Wikimedia New York City began a monthly collaboration project whereby one or a thematic group of articles are selected for improvement. It lasted for a couple years then petered out. In an attempt to revive this monthly collaboration and in honor of Women's History Month, I've added a list of women from the Wiki400 list Wikipedia:NYC400. To kick start this, I wrote the article for Jocelynne Rainey. Pinging some folks who might be interested: @Pharos, @RoySmith, @Rhododendrites, @CmdrDan, @Thriley, @DutchTreat, @Scottandrewhutchins, @Windblown29, @Epicgenius, @Wileycount, @Pacita (WikiNYC), @Crystal.WMNYC, @Jeremyb, @ComplexRational, @CBwikimedianyc, @Rosiestep

Joseph Fallert Brewery complex - Williamsburg, Brooklyn building
I started an article for the Joseph Fallert Brewery complex. It is slated for demolition. I'm surprised there isn't a photo of this complex on commons, perhaps I'm missing it. Paging Wiki-superheros @Jim.henderson and @Epicgenius. - Wil540 art (talk) 01:03, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Wil540 art, thanks for the mention. I usually take pics around Manhattan and near subway stations, but maybe I can get a pic during the summer. – Epicgenius (talk) 03:59, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
- Actually, reading the article, it looks like the brewery may not even have that much time left. I'll see what I can do. – Epicgenius (talk) 04:01, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

More specificity on the assessment section's importance scale?
We don't appear to have a standard for articles pertaining to demographic groups. History of the Jews in New York City, for example, was rated Mid-importance, while Nuyorican was rated Low-importance and Italians in New York City was rated High-importance. This seems kind of inconsistent and I think we should have a standard.
Given that neighborhoods are considered High-importance, it seems reasonable to put demographic groups in general in the same category, with sub-topics related to those groups (history, sub-groups, etc.) in Mid-importance. Thoughts? AspiringGnome (talk) 17:15, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- I find that most of the ratings are questionable. I often see something show up on Article alerts and when I go look at it, I don't see how it has anything to do with NYC. On closer inspection, it usually turns out that it's a person who at one time lived in NYC, or a company that had an office here, or something like that, so they get a NYC project banner with a "Low importance" rating. So, yes, I'd like to see us adopt some more useful classification system with reasonable standards/guidance. RoySmith (talk) 12:22, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
- My feeling is that "X in NYC" should, at the very least, be high importance because they are directly related to the subject (though it depends on how vital"these topics are to NYC). Other topics not directly related should be low importance. – Epicgenius (talk) 19:08, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- This would be my proposed edit of the importance scale. In particular:
- Demographic groups would fall under High-importance
- Mid-level concepts related to the city would also be High-importance
- Highly externally-significant organizations based in NYC, but with no other significant connection, would be Mid-importance; all others would be low-importance
- Places, events, organizations, people, and "Other" would appear as separate categories of examples in the table
- Which, if any, of these edits should I make on the project page? AspiringGnome (talk) 20:27, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Destubathon of the Americas
Project members are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to $2680 in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:10, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

MOS:OVERLINK and New York City
Fellow editors, please follow the guidance at MOS:OVERLINK, which specifically calls out New York City as a place that does not need to be Wikilinked in the vast majority of articles. This is because New York City is one of those few places in the world so well known and awesome that all readers are familiar with it. Leaving New York City unlinked is the correct thing to do.
