| Good start on this biography, but citations and footnotes needed. Some POV issues - "rewrote the school record book" - edited back, with citations and statistics to prove this assertion. Edofedinburgh 19:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC) |

Name correction
this article should be renamed Earl Heath Miller (football player) ~2025-42593-99 (talk) 21:30, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
Requested move 1 January 2026
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: no consensus. Mostly opposed here, with a couple of exceptions that look as if they may possibly come from the same individual, and signs of LLM usage, both of which did not convince anybody here strongly. An alternative was brought up but did not see enough support to move forward and may be discussed separately if desired. (closed by non-admin page mover) ASUKITE 15:24, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
Heath Miller → Earl Heath Miller (football player) – This is the actual name of the person the article is about Citysummery (talk) 00:54, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- Strong oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. I didn't see a source in the article that used Earl Heath Miller. —C.Fred (talk) 00:58, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- Both these articles refer to his birth name of Earl Heath Miller

- The title of the first article is literally "Labriola on Heath Miller". I don't know how much more that says that's his common name. —C.Fred (talk) 01:42, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- It literally says "His given name is Earl Heath Miller, and he was born and raised in Swords Creek, Va., a tiny mining community surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. It is a place where everybody knows everybody and fundamental family values still rule the day." - Strong support This move aligns with WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:PRECISION. The current article title uses "Heath Miller" for the retired NFL player, but that usage is no longer clearly dominant. Other individuals named Heath Miller are notable and currently active in the public sphere. This includes Heath Miller the music promoter and Heath Miller the professional wrestler, both of whom have had more recent activity and public coverage than the retired football player.
- There is no longer a single primary topic that merits exclusive use of the base name. Redirecting "Heath Miller" to a disambiguation page would better reflect current usage and help readers navigate to the correct person. The NFL player’s article should be retitled as Earl Heath Miller or Heath Miller (American football) per WP:PRECISION and WP:NATURALDIS. This change supports clarity, neutrality, and improved navigation for readers seeking different individuals who share the same name. ~2026-50303 (talk) 13:20, 3 January 2026 (UTC) — ~2026-50303 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
- Strong Support Per WP:PRECISION and WP:NATURALDIS, the current title "Heath Miller" is no longer the most appropriate label for the retired NFL player. Multiple notable individuals named Heath Miller are active in their respective fields, including a professional wrestler and a concert promoter. Given the lack of a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and the increasing ambiguity of the name, it is more neutral and helpful to disambiguate.
- The most accurate and policy-compliant option would be to rename the article to Earl Heath Miller, using the subject's full name per WP:TITLEUSE and WP:FULLNAME guidelines. Alternatively, Heath Miller (American football) or Heath Miller (football player) would satisfy precision requirements and conform to existing naming conventions for athletes without primary topic status. The base title "Heath Miller" should redirect to a disambiguation page that lists all notable individuals with the name. Noparking9 (talk) 16:22, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Further, I make these recommendations:
- Support the Move: Editors should vote SUPPORT on the requested move.
- Preferred Title: "Earl Heath Miller (Football player)". This title offers the highest precision, utilizing the natural disambiguator "Earl" alongside the profession qualifier. It respects the user's specific request and creates a formal, authoritative entry.
- Alternative Title: "Heath Miller (American football)" or "Heath Miller (Football player)". These are robust, standard-compliant fallbacks that resolve the primary ambiguity.
- Create Navigation Hub: The base page "Heath Miller" must be converted into a Disambiguation Page to equitably serve all readerships.
- Noparking9 (talk) 16:24, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Further, I make these recommendations:
- Oppose as proposed per WP:NATURAL. Weak support Earl Heath Miller as currently a redirect that both currently targets the article and satisfies WP:NATURAL. Steel1943 (talk) 16:36, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose the proposed Heath Miller → Earl Heath Miller (football player) which would make Earl Heath Miller a redirect to → Earl Heath Miller (football player), but would support Heath Miller → Earl Heath Miller, per Steel1943. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:46, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. He appears to be commonly known as Heath Miller, not Earl Heath Miller. Per WP:COMMONNAME that's therefore the title we should use. He also seems to be the clear primary topic for the name, and if he wasn't we would disambiguate as Heath Miller (American football) in any case. The nomination seems to show a fundamental misunderstanding of how we title articles on Wikipedia. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:40, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose as proposed. And the obvious sock puppetry is, well, obvious. Celia Homeford (talk) 12:46, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Heath Miller → Heath Miller (American football) – There are various other notable people on Wikipedia who are also called Heath Miller. Please check Heath Miller (disambiguation). There is Heath Miller (actor), who is an Australian actor, a concert promoter, and Heath Wallace Miller or Heath Slater, who is a very well-known wrestler. Especially sine there's a famous wrestler with the same birth name, I would strongly recommend moving Heath Miller to Heath Miller (Amerian football). This is consistent with the naming conventions for various American football players with commonly used names. WhenSeptEnds (talk) 12:14, 11 February 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. - Oppose. Still the clear primary topic per pageviews. I'm not counting Heath Slater since he only used "Heath Miller" as a ring name in FCW; he is known in all reliable sources as "Heath Slater" or "Heath". 162 etc. (talk) 17:53, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose Heath Miller (actor) and Heath Miller (promoter) are barely even notable. The actor is tagged for notability right now, and the promoter looks like it has suffered COI editing. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 13:17, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. The existence of other Heath Millers doesn't stop one from being the primary topic. Jessintime (talk) 13:35, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support. The move aligns with Wikipedia’s disambiguation standards. “Heath Miller” is shared by multiple notable individuals, so adding “(American football)” reduces confusion and follows common naming conventions. The pageviews defense doesn't make an accurate argument as of course the existing Heath Miller main page will get most of the traffic, which should land on the disambiguation page. which seems to receive extremely little traffic Ceme187 (talk) 15:36, 15 February 2026 (UTC) — Ceme187 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
- Wikipedia traffic is almost entirely driven by clicking on links, not the search box. Moving the Heath Miller article away from the base name would have minimal effect on the pageviews, which according to the link you provided, are at 86% for the football player, more than enough for WP:PT1. 162 etc. (talk) 17:57, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Cfls (talk) 17:22, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support. A navigation hub ensures readers find their intended subject, creating a fairer distribution of traffic regardless of current views.Globetrotterworld (talk) 15:29, 16 February 2026 (UTC) — Globetrotterworld (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
- Oppose. The football player is the clear primary topic by pageviews. Wikinav disproves the claim that there is traffic between the player and the less well-known Heath Millers. The Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry is again obvious. Celia Homeford (talk) 09:16, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support The base title "Heath Miller" should redirect to a disambiguation page, as multiple independently notable people share this name. Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, no single subject has clear dominance, making a disambiguation page the appropriate primary destination.
- Noparking9 (talk) 20:03, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Uhm no, per PRIMARYTOPIC the football player has clear dominance in page views. The other people are barely even notable, if they even are. The wrestler was known as Heath Slater in WWE, not Heath Miller, so people won't be looking for him under that name. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 20:09, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Note: WikiProject Biography/Sports and games, WikiProject College football, and WikiProject National Football League have been notified of this discussion. CNC (talk) 22:23, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per Pageviews. The American football player is clearly more notable. Assadzadeh (talk) 22:33, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Support per nom, I don't think there's a PRIMARYTOPIC by long-term significance.--Ortizesp (talk) 15:32, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Did you look at pageviews, as it clearly shows the American football player as being more notable? Assadzadeh (talk) 15:49, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Comment The few readers that make it to the disambiguation page are clicking on Heath Miller (promoter), not the wrestler Heath Slater.—Bagumba (talk) 23:29, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose: according to the Wikinav data, only 25 people clicked on the hatnote last month. The Heath Miller article had over 6000 views last month. Bait30 Talk 2 me pls? 05:58, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Support the addition of the disambiguation, as this Heath Miller is not the PRIMARYTOPIC, given the existence of Heath Miller (promoter) who also has a song claim. Alansohn (talk) 18:39, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
