I'm just seconding this! The vast majority of Polish Jews historically were speakers of Yiddish, and so it's really only fitting that the Yiddish version is rendered and acknowledged on the page. Yoshkepandre (talk) 15:34, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

Following @Day Creature:'s addition of the "too-long" template, I think it would be a good idea to open discussion on the topic. I've managed to slim it down by roughly 1%, but in so doing, I've become convinced that it will not be easy to substantially shorten the entry (in fact, at times it was necessary to add to the article to clarify some elements, e.g. the section on Cantonist schools). While it is very likely there is still some flaccid prose and unnecessary detail remaining (which it would be good to reduce), I doubt that this page will ever be exactly short given the span of history and territory treated (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania...) For the most part, the article is pretty readable, in my opinion. Thoughts? -- SashiRolls ^{🌿 · 🍥} 09:05, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for taking a look at this and doing some trimming. I agree that the article will inevitably end up being fairly long, given the complexity of the subject matter. I think the Interbellum section, particularly the subsection on "Between antisemitism and support for Zionism and Jewish state in Palestine", seems too long and detailed right now and would be a good target for further trimming.
