This article needs more sources to pass Wikipedia:Notability, otherwise it might be deleted. It also has ONE source, which is not accepted at WIkipedia either. @Cynthia Muldoon and ShadowBallX: Pulling approval; the article is heavily reliant on self-published sources (Cal fan blog posts and and self-published material hosted on the University of Idaho site). The hook fact is also not stated in the article, and it appears to be WP:SYNTH relying on an original interpretive conclusion that he won a gold medal and then rugby was dropped, instead of a secondary source confirming that he won the last rugby gold medal at the Olympics. Isn't the hook as written wrong, given that rugby sevens became an Olympic sport in 2016? So unless "rugby" meant 15-a-side rugby union specifically and not the sport of rugby in general, there is no such thing as "the last two ever awarded for rugby", since rugby is currently an Olympic sport.
