Jonathon Duniam → Jonno Duniam – As per WP:COMMONNAME. The shortened first name Jonno is commonly now used in his own website and social media, the latest shadow ministry list and news articles. The shortened name is also mentioned in his biography in the Parliamentary Handbook. Marcnut1996 (talk) 12:04, 17 February 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 05:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Soft support, given it's clearly used officially, but perhaps 'Jonathon "Jonno" Duniam' might be better. – GlowstoneUnknown (Talk) 02:36, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- @GlowstoneUnknown: Your suggestion is not conventional as the article title, but is conventional in the lead paragraph of the article. See WP:OTHERNAMES. Marcnut1996 (talk) 03:56, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
- Then I have no objections – GlowstoneUnknown (Talk) 04:23, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

- This does indicate that "Jonno Duniam" is commonly used as his name, but I don't think it necessarily implies that it's more common than "Jonathon Duniam". As WP:COMMONNAME notes, when determining the common name we use
independent, reliable, English-language sources
; in this case, his website and social media are not independent. The other three sources are the sort we want here, though one of them uses "Jonathon (Jonno) Roy" (as you have more or less noted). There are at least a decent number of sources which use "Jonathon"; see, for example: This isn't, by the way, to suggest that I actively disagree with the move, but to note that I'm not seeing evidence so far that "Jonno Duniam" is more common than the current title. – Michael Aurel (talk) 11:12, 18 February 2026 (UTC) - Note: WikiProject Biography/Politics and government and WikiProject Australian politics have been notified of this discussion.
