Needs to say something about the slits between bottom of sleeves and belt

Authentic kimono styles have slits between bottom of sleeves and belt. Needs to say something about them.

@Ocdcntx: - that's the miyatsukuchi, which is currently mentioned under the Construction heading. However, that diagram isn't the clearest, and I would like to submit a new one for the article at a later date that makes this construction feature more obvious. -- Ineffablebookkeeper (talk) 09:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Plural of "kimono"

What's the plural form of the word kimono? I've seen "kimono" and "kimonos", and am wondering whether the latter shouldn't be written as "kimonoes". Nakonana (talk) 07:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

cost of kimono

I think the cost of kimono is off. It says it goes to $1000 USD but this would be very low end. It is closer to 5000 for a high quality one. 2404:7A82:6AE1:4500:75E2:94A7:83EA:7803 (talk) 11:54, 16 September 2024 (UTC)

Suspected use of AI generation in History, Parts of Kimono, and Types of Kimono

ZamboniZoomer is suspected of LLM use for edits elsewhere on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive1203#h-Disruptive_editing_by_ZamboniZoomer-20251013124600.

The following issues with this user's edits to this article have raised concern in my mind:

  • Wikilink for "Dotera" uses an alternative name for the clothing (Tanzen), but target page is unrelated.
  • Citation error with 'seikatsubunka'.
  • Several citations of non-english works without translation, possibly suspect.
  • Excessive redlinking?
  • Poor placement of 'Kamakura and Muromachi periods' subsection.
  • Image gallery in 'Yamato period to Nara period (300-794)' includes multiple works that seem more appropriate for other subsections.
  • Red wikilinks to extant content (e.g. "Tale of Genji Emaki", not Genji Monogatari Emaki; and "samurai class", not samurai).
