| 1. Well-written: | ||
| 1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. | 1. There are missing or duplicate words in sentences.
2. There are unnecessary spaces before commas and brackets.
3. There is improper use of punctuation.
4. There are misspelled words.
5. Incorrect words/terminology are consistently used.
6. The article is quite repetitive.
7. Several sentences make little to no sense in their current form.
8. "Joseph Morgan. Hall has received many accolades for his portrayal of Klaus," Who is Hall? 9. The tense frequently fluctuates between present and past. Given the page is about a fictional character, it should ideally use present tense throughout. 10. The article uses "Always and Forever" and "always and forever". One format needs to be used throughout for consistency.
| 1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. | 1. There are unnecessary or poorly formatted pipelinks.
2. Several cases of MOS:Overlink, names like Alaric Saltzman and New Orleans are linked multiple times within the same level 2 heading. 3. There are multiple MOS:WTW used. For example, legendary, acclaim, iconic, notable, etc.
| 2. Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check: | ||
| 2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline. | 1. Several references link to 404 pages or the like.
2. Some citations are cited twice on the References list.
3. There are unnecessary gaps between punctuation and references.
4. Most of the sources do not meet the WP:RS threshold.
| 2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). |
| |
| 2c. it contains no original research. | Not reviewed due to the quick fail. | |
| 2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism. | Not reviewed due to the quick fail. | |
| 3. Broad in its coverage: | ||
| 3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. | Not reviewed due to the quick fail. | |
| 3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style). | Not reviewed due to the quick fail. | |
| 4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each. | In its current form, the article reads as incredibly informal. It needs to be rewritten in an encyclopaedic manner. Not reviewed in further detail due to the quick fail. | |
| 5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute. | Seems to be. | |
| 6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio: | ||
| 6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. | The source cited for the image in the infobox is incorrect. This image does not exist on that page. | |
| 6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions. | Appears to be. | |
| 7. Overall assessment. | Quick failing this under Criteria 1, as it is a long way from meeting the well-written good article criterion. Having read over the entire article, I have provided some feedback for the remaining criteria, but this is not extensive.
I will also be marking the article with a copy edit tag. Overall, this article needs to be seriously rewritten and revamped before resubmission.
Additional Comments
1. Please read through Template:Infobox character and appropriately correct the infobox on this page.
- Use the based on template. Should only mention Klaus Mikaelson under character and L.J. Smith under author. Remove "In part on character" and "from The Vampire Diaries".
- Cite sources for nickname/aliases. For example, I can't find anything online to corroborate "The King".
- Remove Caroline Forbes and Hayley Marshall from Spouse, neither of them were ever married to Klaus.
- Grace O'Connell-Mikaelson is not his daughter, this appears to be fanfiction?
- Use a plainlist when refering to multiples instead of a linebreak or /. For example in, "Mystic Falls, Virginia / New Orleans, Louisiana".
- Nationality does not need to be stated given that it is unknown.
- Remove the abilities label. It is completely unnecessary.
2. Let me know if you have any questions!
Fixing Possible Issue Per GA Review
@MadelynnSienna Hello,
Thank you for the feedback. I just wanted to ask if you could review the article again, as I have addressed the highlighted issues and am considering resubmitting it for GA.
Afro 📢Talk! 09:32, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! No problem, I'd be happy to review it before you resubmit it for a GA. I can look over the article this weekend, if that's alright? MadelynnSienna (talk) 09:34, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- @MadelynnSienna Yea sure Many Thanks Afro 📢Talk! 09:50, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- @MadelynnSienna Hello, how was your weekend? I trust you’re doing well. Just checking in to follow up on this. Afro 📢Talk! 16:58, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! My apologies for the delay, I was quite busy this weekend. Here's my overview on the article in its current form.
- 1. There's still quite a few grammatical errors which need to corrected. I would recommend running the entire article through a grammar checker to catch these. Just a couple that I noted:
- The gap in 'Somerhalder )' still hasn't been fixed.
- Missing gap between in 'Alaric Saltzman. However'
- Repeated words in "across the The Vampire"
- Rayna Cruz, during which Klaus > Rayna Cruz, during which time Klaus
- werewolfism > lycanthropy?
- first hybrid of a vampire with werewolf > first hybrid of a vampire and werewolf
- Joseph Morgan Hall who is Hall?
- evolves over the course of the show. > evolve over the course of the show.
- Plec calling Klaus the ultimate Big Bad," > missing quotation marks
- 2. A lot of the sources currently cited don't meet the WP:RS threshold. For example, Silver Petticoat Review, Movieweb, AV Club, Think Write Create, AssignmentX, Spoiler TV and Den of Greek feel quite suspect.
- 3. Some of the 404 pages mentioned at 2a.1 still have not been replaced as sources.
- 4. In my opinion, the language does not feel very encyclopedic. For example, words like useless, bullied (in its current context), undaggers (could be removes the dagger), interesting friendship, spilled over, spurns, etc are all quite informal. Even phrases like, 'passionate but final encounter', 'appreciating her for her looks', 'bravery as well as and refusal to allow the vampire lifestyle to corrupt her' pose a similar problem.
- 5. A lot of the mistakes highlighted in the GA review are still present.
- 6. Neutral language isn't consistently used. Examples: “spurns”, “brutality”, “tormenting”, “ultimate”, etc.
- 7. Quite a bit of editorial language is used. Examples: “formidable opponent”, “magnetic figures”, etc.
- 8. There appears to be some WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. In some cases you also state that certain behaviours hint to a certain characteristic in Klaus which isn't duly sourced.
- In my opinion, this article is still very firmly falls within the quick fail criteria (for GA criterions 1, 2 and 4). I would recommend going over the criterion for a GA one-by-one and ensuring the article meets each requirement before moving on to the next. Also make it aligns with the Manual of Style, as there are definitely quite a few issues with respect to that at the moment. MadelynnSienna (talk) 21:50, 22 September 2025 (UTC)

- @MadelynnSienna Please check again. The article has now been completely cleaned up and rewritten. Afro 📢Talk! 09:29, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! I've gone over it again.
- 1. Miscellaneous grammatical errors:
- appearance in series finale > appearance in the series finale
- explores his relationships with siblings Elijah, Rebekah, and others, as well as > follows his relationships with siblings, Elijah and Rebekah, as well as
- and immortality serving as a > and immortality, serving as a
- Freya, who Dahlia > Freya, whom Dahlia
- assisting him in his plan of building > into aiding him in his plan to build
- dagger ffrom Elijah > dagger from Elijah
- that leads to the revival > that lead to the revival
- she reject him > she rejects him
- New Orleans, after > New Orleans after
- siblings Elijah and Rebekah regarding > siblings, Elijah and Rebekah, regarding
- protecting her while relinquishing their Relinquishing sounds odd here, maybe replace it?
- Marcel Gerard after taking the serum, > Marcel Gerard, after taking the serum,
- another, especially when > another, such as when
- Colider In its “10 Best TV Vampires,’ Ranked”, placed > Collider ranked
- their deafening relationship persists Deafening makes no sense here
- Joseph Morgan Hall has received I'm pretty sure Hall is not part of the actors name.
- + Definitely come a long way since the very first draft I read though!
- 2. The second and third paragraph under Reception are nearly identical. One of them needs to be removed.
- 3. There's an orange link in the reference 40 that needs to be fixed.
- 4. Per WP:RSP, We Got This Covered is not a reliable source, so please replace is.
- 5. Per WP:RS, I don't think Doux Reviews, Den of Greek and TheThings are reliable sources.
- 6. WP:USWEEKLY is a 50/50 when it comes to reliability, so I'd recommend replacing it if possible.
- 7. The following references do not work:
- "MIAW2014 | Ian Somerhalder vs. Joseph Morgan: quién es el mejor chupasangre". MTV (in Spanish). Retrieved 28 September 2023.
- Grimaldi, Christine Persaud (June 4, 2020). "The Vampire Diaries: The 10 Best Villains, Ranked". Screen Rant. Retrieved September 13, 2025.

Possible AI generated text
Concerns have been raised about AI-generated content in this article. This is a procedural talk page section to discuss it. There is no need to ping me in response. Rationale: since v1 in 2025, note WP:AISIGNS in superficial analyses, vocab distro typical of LLM output, etc. here and in user's other edits Gnomingstuff (talk) 01:08, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have been performing cleanup and making fixes to this article for months now, and it has greatly improved. I should be done by tomorrow with some additional work. Afro 📢Talk! 11:57, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
