Change "...his wife insisted he attend a medical appointment, inadvertently saving him from certain death." to "...his wife insisted he attend a medical appointment, saving him from certain death."
"Inadvertent" was claimed. Not an objective fact. CriticVic (talk) 20:14, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Not done: So you're suggesting that Silverstein's wife may have had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks and took deliberate action to save his life by insisting that he keep the appointment? I think we can rule that out, so there's nothing wrong with using "inadvertently" here. Day Creature (talk) 23:24, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not much aware to what extent Wikipedia wants to remain objective, the claim of "inadvertently" is a subjective source. All I'm suggesting is that Larry Silverstein was saved by going to his medical appointment. CriticVic (talk) 23:45, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I don't know what you mean by a "subjective source." It seems fairly obvious that Silverstein's wife was not intending to save his life when she insisted he go to the appointment. Day Creature (talk) 23:55, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- Both the sources provided to support the "inadvertently" wording do not suggest it was inadvertent, thus the word "inadvertently" and it's connotations were injected from the opinion of the editors. Your "fairly obvious" claim only stands in opinion.
- If we do consider opinion though, according to source 24, "It became [Larry Silverstein's] habit to have coffee each morning at Windows on the World atop the North Tower." The timing of "insistence" from the wife contrasts against usual habit.
- Both these points suggest it was not "fairly obvious" it was inadvertent considering the lack of provided "evidence." CriticVic (talk) 00:35, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
Not done: It's not a statement of opinion, it's a factual statement. If you want to suggest otherwise, that his wife's action was intentional, you'll have to provide evidence of that. Day Creature (talk) 17:00, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
