Kevin Feige and now Mahershala Ali confirmed the Mahershala Ali Blade reboot is dead

Feige said in an interview: "We Didn’t Get Off the Ground With Mahershala Ali" - https://variety.com/2026/film/news/kevin-feige-blade-reboot-failure-marvel-loser-1236816505/

So shouldn't the Blade reboot be removed from the films listed as 'In Development' since it's clearly no longer happening? Kala7992 (talk) 19:51, 21 July 2026 (UTC)

Doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know, and was not a serious response anyway. We already knew that they hadn't got off the ground. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:14, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
He did not explicitly state that it has been shelved, just that he regrets it not coming into fruition yet. I do not think we can use this to definitely label it as canceled or unproduced, let alone to justify outright removal. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 20:45, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
Fair enough that makes sense. Don't worry, I will not remove anything at all, I just wanted to hear other editors' thoughts on the interview comment. Kala7992 (talk) 23:53, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97 @Trailblazer101 there's been an update: The logo designer of the film Justin Claus Harder admitted the Blade movie is cancelled in an Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/DbJwW9VkR2S/?img_index=4 Kala7992 (talk) 16:52, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
"I wanted to edit this post by saying I was just going off what Feige said in a recent interview. I’m hoping the logo stays and that they recast!!" - adamstom97 (talk) 16:53, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
@Adamstom.97 I went off of what this X post said: https://x.com/MCUFilmNews/status/2080503653816045632#m
I should have been more careful and not fallen for the clickbait. I'm assuming this means the Blade reboot could happen years later but Mahershala Ali will be recast. Kala7992 (talk) 16:56, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Anything could happen, this guy doesn't know anything about the future that we don't. - adamstom97 (talk) 16:58, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Mahershala Ali confirmed he's not returning as Blade. He said:
"You had me under contract, they have billions of dollars. If they wanted to do the movie, we would’ve done the movie… I feel ready to move on from the Blade questions. Those questions are for them"
"Ali candidly admitted that, as far as he’s concerned, his version of “Blade” is dead":
“Not with me,” he said about whether he’d be involved with the Marvel film. “The best way I can answer this question is, when I look at what is for me, is it was either this or that—and I’ll take this—no offense to them. I’ve been doing this professionally for pushing 30 years now, and one thing I’ve learned is that what is for you is for you and what is not is not. For whatever reason, that project is not for me. If they wanted to do it, we would’ve done it. So I have to move on, and I have moved on.”

So a Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali is clearly never happening now. That seems like a confirmation. Mahershala Ali is not coming back to Marvel. Kala7992 (talk) 15:50, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
We should have a centralized discussion about all this now. On Talk:Development of Blade (Marvel Studios film) is likely the correct place for how to address mentions of the film across our various MCU articles. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:14, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
This discussion is about this page since it is still listed under "in development" alongside the Nova movie and Shang Chi 2 for example - I'm trying to claim it no longer is and shouldn't be in that table. Kala7992 (talk) 17:25, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

Add Avi Arad is as a producer for SM Brand New Day at top of the article and in the box. Wikiwimble (talk) 12:12, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Gosling's Ghost Rider

There has been no confirmation towards which version of Ghost Rider Gosling will portray. Could the link 'Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider' be changed to 'Ghost Rider'. KeyFili (talk) 20:20, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

This is reliably sourced by major entertainment industry trades The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline Hollywood, and is adequately noted as being reported on for now. We do not have to wait for official confirmation from Marvel to add information from reputable sources. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 20:46, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
The Hollywood Reporter, a verified source, let it slip he’s the Johnny Blaze version. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 20:47, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
