Request for rewording.

"As of March 2012, WikiScanner's website was online, but not functioning; WikiScanner is no longer online." im just saying this is hard to understand/read. rewording is probably needed to make it more clear. With3rnite (talk) 00:03, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Perhaps as something like “While it is no longer online, by March 2012, Wikiscanner’s website was online but not functioning at the time.” Azaliana (talk) 03:22, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
It's been reduced to simply "WikiScanner is no longer online." We are encouraged to use the phrasing "As of [date]..." for things that are relevant at the time but are likely to become dated at some point in the future. The project's on-line status in 2012, on a subject from 2007, is no longer relevant. In fact, the citation for that information takes one to a defunct web site. Controversy sorting idea

I suggest the list of Wikipedia controversies itself can be split up like this: 2002-2010, 2011-2020, 2021-present. OR it could be sorted by the issue/topic: political, economic, etc Ilikememes128 (talk) 17:13, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

Perhaps a sortable table would be a good addition. That way people could review topics by date or by issue or whatever other classification might be helpful. As an added benefit, links from the table could take people to the relevant discussion section. But what an undertaking that would be. It's above my skill set. Some months ago I suggested the same thing, for the article a split by decade and many people argued against it, so I'm not sure many people would agree. NeoGaze (talk) 23:14, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
I think that we could split the article into different sub-articles by either the type of controversy or how large the controversy was. Wywyscifi (talk) 21:18, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
I agree that it needs to be split up. Dividing by decade would probably be easiest and cause the least conflict; grouping by topic seems tricky. ARoseThorn (talk) 00:58, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
