Recently there was claim that suggests ancient physician sushruta was the first to link malaria with mosquitoes but the reference provided isn't reliable and only that reference make such claims.
In the original text of sushruta samhita. It says
Mosquitoes (Mas'akas) are divided into five species, viz,, the Samudra, Paiimandala, Hasti-masaka, Krishna and the Parvatiya. A mosquito (Masaka)-bite is characterised by a severe itching and swelling of the affected locality ; while the symptoms which mark a bite by a Parvatiya one are similar to those of a bite by fatally venomous insects, and a sting of the points of their antennae is followed by the appearance of pustules (Pidaka) attended with a burning sensation and suppuration therein, when scratched by the finger-nails. The characteristic features of a bite by Jalaukas (leeches) with the mode of treatment thereof have already been described. [1]
But none of them describes anything related to malaria so I removed it. Myuoh kaka roi (talk) 22:52, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
The claim isn't recent and most of your are just original Research, Malaria as a mosquito-borne disease were recorded more than 3000 yrs old.

- Further from the book Mosquito by wineguard,
- "Indian medical texts also mention the differing malarial fevers by 1500 BCE. The "king of diseases" was personified by the fiery fever de- mon Takman, who arises from lightning during the rainy season. Not only did Indians recognize that water was somehow affiliated with mos- quitoes, they also seem to have been the first to identify mosquitoes as the source of malaria. In his detailed sixth-century BCE compendium on medicine, Indian physician Sushruta singled out five mosquito spe- of the northern Indus River Valley: " 2409:40E4:2014:B1D5:355E:F460:C244:69E9 (talk) 20:16, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- It's not mentioned in original text of sushruta samhita that I have given in the source but I still added the source that you mentioned in the talk to the article..In the same source it is mentioned that

- Ross was the first to show that malarial parasite was transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes, in his case the avian Plasmodium relictum. In 1897, an Italian physician and zoologist Giovanni Battista Grassi, along with his colleagues, had established the developmental stages of malaria parasites in anopheline mosquitoes; and they described the complete life cycles of P. falciparum, P. vivax and P. malariae the following year.[1][2]

The statement doesn't disprove any of the above showing and believing or stating the same thing are fundamentally different since, showing is quiet a result of technical advancements in research especially recent..
From Shushruta , definitely he was referring to the disease by rats and mosquito, Plaues and Malaria respectively-

See another early source "..Sushruta had already established a code of ethics and highly
sophisticated methods ofsurgery by 500 BC. His writings in the
