Maritime trade
I realized after trying to add a Nav template about maritime activities to the footer section here, that maritime trade is not covered at all in this article, as Gawaon rightly pointed out. Certainly seems like this is a sufficiently important subtopic which ought to be covered in summary form in a brief section here, likely under the § Trade section, with a {{Main}} link to Maritime trade in the Maya civilization. For the time being, I've added the Nav template to the other article; maybe that's sufficient as far as the Nav is concerned. Hopefully someone here will pick up the baton and add a summary about maritime trade to this parent article. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 06:56, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Spelling mistake in the "Writing System" section, in the footer where the Maya word "Bʼalam" is explained: Change "logographicaly" to "logographically". Zobblerone (talk) 14:27, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
No Disambiguation link at top of article.
Simple as. Please fix brave heros of wikipedia, thx :-). ~2026-12332-33 (talk) 00:00, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Not done. What's there to disambiguate? Gawaon (talk) 08:50, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- The term Maya. The disambiguation page already exists and comes up as a search recommendation for "maya". Here is the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya . I honestly don't know Wikipedia rule standards for disambiguation, but as a wiki user enjoyer, I think it would improve my experience. It caused slight annoyance during use :3 ~2026-12332-33 (talk) 05:35, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- "Maya" by itself is ambiguous, but "Maya civilization" is not, since there was only one. Hence there's no need for a disambiguating hatnote here. See WP:DABLINKUG: "It is usually preferable not to add disambiguation hatnotes to a page whose name already clearly distinguishes itself from the generic term." "Maya civilization" is sufficiently distinct from just "Maya" to make confusion very unlikely, hence we don't link here. Gawaon (talk) 07:55, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Maya religious practices
Is there any mention of divination practices in the Maya culture? If so, I think it would be interesting to add this to the religion and mythology section of this article. Morrisscarj (talk) 01:31, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- It's already covered in detail in Maya religion § Divination. Gawaon (talk) 09:14, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
