On PDP-Laban's "Left-wing" identification

Does PDP-Laban still actively identify itself as a left-wing organization? The descriptor seems extremely dissonant from its current actions in Philippine Politics. Or is this more because of its coalition membership? W34VER2020 (talk) 07:36, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, it seems incredibly disconnected to the stance of modern PDP-Laban, apparently the original PDP did have Christian Democratic Socialism as it's ideology, but it seems more right wing than anything CSkyes (talk) 09:34, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Support removal of "left-wing" general appellation in favor of "Big Tent", at least in the Infobox, due to its recent support of red-baiting stances, despite its new, Duterte-era pro-China stand. In light of this red-baiting tolerance, the "Populist" appellation could even be promoted to "Right-wing populist". Bagoto (talk) 03:29, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Name of this article

In 2024, Lowkeypedia moved this article from PDP–Laban to the current article as the party renamed itself. That seems to be a good idea at the time, and some people were upset they dropped Ninoy Aquino's "Lakas ng Bayan". In the 2025 elections though, the party kept on using the "PDP–Laban" name, and even the WP:RS also kept using that name. What's the best course of action here? Rename back to "PDP–Laban"? Move it back to PDP-Laban, many news sources still use PDP-Laban, the official Facebook page, heck, even the official website still uses the name PDP-Laban. Walter H. White (talk) 12:10, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

Partido Demokratiko Pilipino → PDP-LabanPDP-Laban – Even though PDP-Laban dropped "Lakas ng Bayan" from their name, The party still went on to use "PDP-Laban" during the 2025 elections, their own party website, own facebook page, and numerous other reliable sources referred to them as PDP-Laban even after the name change such as Inquirer, Rappler, Sunstar Davao, Daily Tribune, Manila Bulletin, and others. Oppose nomination, support moving to "PDP–LabanPDP–Laban" . While the legal name may have been changed, WP:RS still refers to the party as "PDP-Laban". Even the party leaders and members who approved the change had referred to the party as "PDP" very minimally and use "PDP-Laban" themselves. Howard the Duck (talk) 21:37, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
