Reunion appearance announcement & active years

Urie recently stated that the band would reunite next year for a festival appearance. Everyone is taking this as being a one off appearance, but that has not been explicitly stated. Similarly, there has recently been instructions not to put “2024–present” in the article, but I have to push back on that for two reasons: 1) Urie announced it this year, which effectively makes the band active as of 2024. If it indeed ends up being a one-off performance, we can always put “2024-2025”. It will not be disruptive to the page. 2) There was never an agreement on the talk page that the instructions should be added. ChristianJosephAllbee (talk) 23:48, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I disagree with having the status as "2024–present". An announcement is not the same as a band performing, as we don't know if they will cancel their performance or not. As WP:CRYSTAL states, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and we don't know if it is definite for sure. Regarding the status, I would wager that we just use "2025" when the performance comes around, but until then, we should leave the activity as is - though we can leave the sub-section in the History section as "2025". Again, just to be clear: WP:CRYSTAL. HorrorLover555 (talk) 02:38, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with HorrorLover55. I also think we should leave the member section empty until a reunion lineup is confirmed by the band, since I've seen people already move Urie's name up. - K-popguardian (talk) 05:20, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- @K-popguardian: Regarding the member section, I agree. "Current members" in that section should be removed as well, at least until the new lineup has been confirmed. The hidden note that's there is fine, just an expansion to not include current members just yet. HorrorLover555 (talk) 12:24, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
"Reunion" section and infobox image concerns
Gonna throw two random questions I have regarding this article here. Might BOLD-ly make changes later on but I wanna gauge some opinions first.
Firstly, regarding Panic! at the Disco#2025: Reunion: the band is not reuniting as far as we are aware. It's a one-off performance for a festival. We don't even list 2025 as an active year for the band for this reason. And, even if this did count as a "reunion" it's still pretty much Urie's solo project. Can a solo project really reunite? Nonetheless, I don't think this section should exist. Something like "the project briefly returned to perform A Fever You Can't Sweat Out in its entirety at the When We Were Young festival in October 2025" would be more than sufficient, no? My point right now anyways is that this section is misleading and probably shouldn't exist.
Secondly, and probably a much more complicated debate, I don't think the current infobox image is very representative of Panic!. This is definitely my own opinion, but I believe that Panic! was generally more popular, and nowadays viewed, as a 2000s band. Sure, Urie's solo project had chart success, but the band had more (as proven here). Everything after it became a solo project was a downhill slope. I'm not fully sure if this actually exists as policy, but I think whenever a group disbands or a famous person dies, Wikipedia generally changes their infobox image from the most recent one to one from the height of their popularity or recognition. If we apply this to bands then I think the same would apply to Panic!, as it no longer exists. I also don't really like the current image anyways; quality is meh and I don't think it's right to highlight touring musicians on something that at the time was definitively a solo project (and wording the caption to make it seem as if they were real band members). It doesn't show all of the touring members anyways AFAICT.
Basically, I think that, for properly representing Panic! at their peak and the majority of their history, the infobox image should be one of the band. I would personally suggest changing the infobox image to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Panic_at_the_Disco_(Hurricane_2008).JPG . it's an image from earlier in the band's career near their peak, is of decent quality (no worse than the current image at least), and shows all of its members at the time. It also shows the aesthetic that the band was known for with their first few albums (which were their most successful). It's even used as the infobox image on other language Wikipedias. If nobody has any objections towards this, I think I'll be swapping the image out within a few days. λ NegativeMP1 23:05, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Their Pretty Odd era in 2008 was definitely NOT the peak of the band's popularity and if anything, that was probably when their fandom was at its most divisive. Panic set alot of new records for themselves as a project during that era of Death of a Bachelor and Pray for the Wicked, I'm saying all this as someone who adores Pretty Odd and hates their later career, you can literally read about all this on the page itself.
- That being said, things are pretty fine as is. We don't know the reunion lineup yet but even if that's just Brendon coming back as Panic! at the Disco, it's still worth mentioning that "Panic! at the Disco performed at When We Were Young" in the main article. - K-popguardian (talk) 23:14, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- "Pretty Odd era in 2008 was definitely NOT the peak of the band's popularity" did I say this? Yes, I know the album was divisive. Admittedly me picking that image is just because it's the highest quality one of the earlier band as a semi-complete entity. The options on Commons simply suck, very simple explanation. "You can literally read about all this on the page itself" yeah, I did read it, even if my logic here is mainly based on certification and chart performance. I still think what I said stands. I am seeing more achievements and performance from 2004-2014 than from 2015-2023. I think their legacy was more characterized by its time as a band, was it not?
- "It's still worth mentioning that "Panic! at the Disco performed at When We Were Young" in the main article" I mean I did say "aomething like 'the project briefly returned to perform A Fever You Can't Sweat Out in its entirety at the When We Were Young festival in October 2025' would be more than sufficient, no?". Obviously this warrants a mention in the article. My problem is having a section literally titled "reunion", which could imply multiple different things to a casual reader that would most certainly not be anticipating one singular festival performance. λ NegativeMP1 23:21, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- For the reunion, I don't know. I'm a bit mixed on that one, while it's being called a reunion here at the moment, I went and read the source provided where their upcoming performance is referred to as "one night only". If there is to be changes and it does turn out to be just a one-off (if a reunion isn't announced at the performance), I would probably put in an explanatory footnote next to the years active that states "One-off(s): 2025".
- I have no opinion on the change to the Infobox photo. So I abstain on that matter. HorrorLover555 (talk) 09:44, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- For years active parameter, I agree that's probably how it should be done. I wouldn't add 2025 as an active year outright, but a note seems fine. But, again, I'm focusing on the fact we have a sub-section of History that implies the band reunited—they did not. To our knowledge, at least. λ NegativeMP1 17:35, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've went ahead and added an explanatory footnote to the infobox that documents the one-off performance in 2025, as well as merged the Reunion section into Disbandment due to my concerns of the section being misleading. Objections are still welcome and this can obviously change of Panic! truly does return, but for now I think this is appropriate. I'll leave the infobox photo up for debate, but I'll also say that if we want the infobox photo to remain as representative of the solo act then it should just simply be a photo of Urie performing. λ NegativeMP1 17:58, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- A one-off performance is still semantically a reunion. A one-day reunion is still a renuion (though this was actually two days of performances and presumedly a longer period of activity to rehearse and plan), and a solo project can reunite! (especially since it has a touring band behind it that are also reuniting, and Spencer Smith played on a song, meaning there really was a reunion of the Smith+Urie duo). I also think it should absolutely be included in the infobox properly: "active 2004–2023 • 2025", the same as Black Sabbath's one-off reunion or Pink Floyd's two post-disbandment one-off live performances.

- I like the idea of using a Pretty. Odd. photo for the lead since it shows more official previous members of the band, and for me personally at their musical peak, though I prefer https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Panic_at_the_Disco_4-11-08_at_The_Warfield_in_San_Francisco,_CA_(2409185670)_(cropped).jpg as an image, despite its lower resolution. Miklogfeather (talk) 17:02, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- If this makes any sense, I feel as if there's a difference between what Sabbath did with Back to the Beginning and what Panic did? I mean, I see the argument don't get me wrong, but Back to the Beginning involved plenty of other activities and recognition that went well beyond that concert. I guess I'm not opposed to listing 2025 when viewed from that perspective though.
- Regarding the photo, I think my suggestion provides a clearer shot of all the band members. For instance, it's really hard to make out Spencer Smith in your suggestion. λ NegativeMP1 19:02, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- This still doesn't feel like a necessary discussion since the arguement had to do with the era in which the band is at their height or at least well known, but not only are all these photos from their most controversial era, but their height still remains 2015-2019, when they had two back to back #1 albums, which they hadn't done in their career before, broke records set in the fever era, and received a number of awards and platinum certifications for their albums and singles. I say the photo is fine as is, that's the Panic! most people know at this point if we're talking notability, which Wikipedia bases alot of its reasoning on. - K-popguardian (talk) 21:57, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
It is worth noting that Panic has been sending out notices at the corner of 4th and Fremont for an event open to the general public on October 20th, the day after WWWY, so I have a feeling we should be keeping an eye out in case this is more than a one off reunion. - K-popguardian (talk) 23:19, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

Seeing this discussion has prompted me to upload this photo (alongside several others) from their performance a week ago that I attended, which includes Brendon, Spencer, and their main three touring members (guitarist, other drummer, and bassist). If an up-to-date photo of the band is necessary, one is now available. Popturtle (talk) 06:00, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly, I'm fine with this image as long as we clarify in the caption that Spencer Smith was not part of the band (either main or touring) at the time it was taken and Brendon Urie was the only real member. Right now, the caption for the current image is painted as if the touring musicians were part of the band itself. λ NegativeMP1 01:04, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Other images with touring members in bands don't usually make that distinction so it should be fine. - 08:26, 29 October 2025 (UTC)K-popguardian (talk)
Proposal to close thread
Based on what I have seen, an agreement was reached for using an explanatory footnote for the "years active" parameter in regards to the 2025 one-off. For the Infobox photo, it appears to have been added, so I can only assume that a consensus was possibly reached for a photo from the 2025 one-off to be used. Without further case, shall we go ahead and close this discussion, or shall we continue to discuss further? HorrorLover555 (talk) 23:24, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
Pinging the following users in the discussion: NegativeMP1, K-popguardian, Miklogfeather and Popturtle for further comment on proposal. HorrorLover555 (talk) 13:40, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- I would still prefer the infobox to read instead of hiding it behind a note, which User:NegativeMP1 came to an understanding on.
- 2004–2023
- 2025
- The image caption should probably read "From left to right: Mike Naran, Dan Pawlovich, Brendon Urie, former drummer Spencer Smith, and Nicole Row", just to clarify for readers Smith's position as a guest past member with the wording that sources have used. Miklogfeather (talk) 14:58, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
One off reunions usually aren't included in the infobox tenure so that's probably not going to change beyond a footnote. Adding that spencer smith is a former drummer might also imply Dan Palowvich is the current official drummer, which he never was, just a touring musician. - K-popguardian (talk) 20:08, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- "One off reunions usually aren't included in the infobox tenure" What about The Doors, The Byrds, The Shaggs, Slint, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Outkast, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Generation X, Wire Train, Black Sabbath or Pink Floyd? Also, Template:Infobox musical artist does not suggest that one-off reunions should not be listed in years active. I kind of get it for an act like Led Zeppelin, which had four seperate one-off reunions, it could be argued they would crowd the infobox if listed, but Panic! has only had one, which would not bloat the infobox to list.
- On the second point, the doesn't say Palowvich is a touring musician or that he isn't an official member, so that concern stands whether or not Spencer Smith is described as a former drummer. Miklogfeather (talk) 21:41, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- My thought still stands on having the 2025 one-off be used for the explanatory footnote. Although there are other articles that use it different or include a one-off in the years active outside of a footnote, we must remember that WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Regarding the caption for the Infobox photo, I wouldn't add the fact that Spencer Smith is a former member for the caption, per K-popguardian's reason. It would be an implication that it would give the idea that touring musicians are now official members? I feel that would cause some confusion for the average Wikipedia reader. HorrorLover555 (talk) 22:17, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- Other stuff exists is the only justification I've gotten to use a footnote, because reunions "usually aren't included" with no policy, discussion or examples cited. My argument is: why not? Save the reader a hover or a click over the note by just listing the reunion year right there.
- Touring musicians aren't listed as official members in the same infobox or the members section so I don't see how it would cause confusion. If anything, I presume it would alleviate it. But since the other members don't have descriptors before their names, I'm not totally concerned about adding one for Smith. Miklogfeather (talk) 11:41, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

Casual readers don't know or care about Wikipedia policy, they're gonna see "former drummer" Smith get acknowledged and wonder why the other touring members aren't listed. We have had a few readers try to add touring members in the past to the infobox. - K-popguardian (talk) 18:09, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
Dallon Weekes
Wikipedia states Dallon started as a touring member in 2009, but became an official band member in 2010. It was always weird seeing this since outside of this wikipedia article I never saw any announcements or confirmation of the band or Dallon saying this. I looked back at this page's editing history and the very first time it's added that Dallon joined in 2010, the source is a tweet of him saying he's officially part of Panic....in August 2012. I've looked at official news articles, and there's only one or two articles mentioning that Dallon joined in 2010, both of which were written in 2017 and quote wikipedia almost verbatim. I tried asking ChatGPT to do a deep dive to find ANYTHING outside of wikipedia that confirms Dallon officially joined the lineup in 2010, and it wasn't able to find anything beyond those articles that quote wikipedia from 2017.
I feel like this tidbit of information is something an editor added one time with no legitimate sources to backup and became widely accepted as fact cause I genuienly can't find any valid confirmation that Dalllon was made an official member in 2010. - K-popguardian (talk) 20:12, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- I feel it should be noted that Dallon joining in 2010 has been established fact for well over a decade at this point.
- There was a now-erased seperate wikipedia article that was just List of members of Panic! At The Disco that I was a contributor on, all the way back in maybe 2016 or so.
- I'm sorry don't actually have the sources that were referenced back then, other than "trust me, bro" (which, quite frankly, isn't much better than your "I asked chatgpt" but), there were definitely old periscope &/or other early streams Dallon's time in the band where they talked a bit about Dallon's joining of the band, both as getting hired as a touring member in 2009 and joining up fully in 2010.
- There are streams (that, as previously said, i don't have in front of me, and may very well not exist anymore) where Dallon talked about the Brobeck's opening gig for FOB/audition for Fueled by Ramen that ended sour, leading to the breakup of The Brobecks, becoming very depressed, and FBR throwing him a bone in the form of an audition to be Panic's new bass player after the 2009 split of Ryan Ross & Jon Walker making the Young Veins.
- He then talks about how he bombed the audition, but they liked him enough anyway to give him a second shot, he succeeded at the second shot, and became Panic's touring bassist along with Ian Crawford as their new touring guitarist, ahead of their tours in 2009 & 2010.
- He then goes on to state that, during this time, Panic (ie Spencer Smith & Brendon Urie) were already finishing up recording of Vices & Virtues, and whole on tour, he had become closer with the band & before a show in Japan, they inducted him into the group officially in 2010.
- Despite not being on the album musically, Dallon WAS already a full-time member by the time of the release of Vices & Virtues in March of 2011. He had say & influence over the albums promotion & vibe because was *already a member.*
- This IS WHY he is on the cover, wearing the goat mask. Because he designed it. You can even look up his preliminary sketch for it which was made on tour, in 2010 (and please do, Spencer's outfit is very funny)
- He's in several of the music videos during the album's release cycle,
- How is Dallon going to be doing all these band-member activities if he's not a member yet?
- This is even a contributing factor in Ian Crawford's leaving of the group in 2012, as he cited Dallon being let into the band but him not, as a factor, which lead to the eventual hiring of Kenneth Harris.
- From there, everything is straight. Spencer, Dallon, & Brendon make TWTL together, with huge contributions from Dallon.
- Spencer leaves for rehab in 2013, and officially in 2015. 2015 is also the year Dallon demotes himself back to touring member, retracting any musical contributions that might have made their way onto DoaB, and using Panic! as a job to fund IDKHow, before leaving fully in 2017 to fully pursue it.
- Furthermore, the whole story of Dallon's failed audition, joining as a road musician, and the backstage induction in 2010, are all corroborated by Brendon Urie in (admittedly potentially no longer extant) Periscope streams from the mid 2010s.
- The 2012 tweet indicates something that might be news to the fans but has already been a thing for well over a year at that point, the Dallon is the Official Panic Bassist.
- I'll keep on doing some digging, try to find more exact dates, but it is already known and been established for years that Dallon DID join in 2010.
- I was even thinking about adding a "touring musician" for Dallon for the times before & after he was the Official bassist.
- The previously mentioned timeline from "List of Panic! At The Disco members" also had this, but it got unwieldy as it began to list *all* of the touring members, a number that kept on growing as the number of Official members kept shrinking.
- Sorry for the long rant, thanks JesseAF13 (talk) 08:06, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- Additional point, I have found videos of Dallon doing "band business" such as joining Brendon in interviews as far back as late 2010, which along with his designing of the V&V cover and overall direction, points to him having been brought into the "official" band sometime that year.
- Foxy Shazam was also the opener to their 2011 tours, one of Dallon's favourite bands. Wouldn't be surprised if they were his suggestion. JesseAF13 (talk) 08:37, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
I would definitely appreciate more concrete sources cause there are ALOT of people who are close to bands and are involved in work process but aren't actually official members, like Jason White from Green Day who's toured with them for years, and even played on 3 full albums with the band but was never officially considered a member. Heck if you want a more relevant example, Kenneth Harris of Panic! outright played guitar on every track but one from Pray for the Wicked. I'm sure there are more detailed direct sources you'll be able to find cause it seems like you know your Panic! lore, but I dunno if stuff like Dallon being in interviews or working on the album cover is concrete evidence he was an official member since 2010. - K-popguardian (talk) 18:59, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
- After doing a deep dive into the old, extinct List of Panic! at the Disco Members (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Panic!_at_the_Disco_band_members&oldid=729428766), a lot of the sources are Dallon's dead twitter links, unarchived, so I can hardly find anything. Likewise, most of the pre-2017 instagram livestreams where he talked about Panic are nowhere to be found as I search for them, and as with most of his social media presence was wiped after he left Panic.
- The member timeline has him joining as a touring member 7/23/2009, and officially 7/26/2010.
- Dallon's article makes mention of the induction backstage in the 2010 China show, which I have verified was indeed a real & accurate show, 7/31/2010.
- As previously stated, there was previously a livestream where Dallon spoke of his audition, and of this induction shortly before the show in Shanghai, that is very simply most likely gone. Couldn't find it after digging for a couple hours.
- I guess the point is moot if you don't believe me, but I've seen it, and its almost definitely the source of this notion he joined in 2010, because thousands of others probably saw it too.
- I also know his inclusion hidden on the cover stems from this, putting himself on because he was an official member at the time of the albums mixing, mastering, and promotion, but not during its recording (4/20/10-7/26/10)
- This is from 2011, and his rhetoric later does seem to imply he had been a member of the band for sometime.
It's clear he wasn't brought in at the time of the 2012 tweet stating he had joined. Just that he was indeed an official member and not a touring member by 2012.
What we know is that sometime between 2009 & 2012, Brendon Urie & Spencer Smith decided they liked what Dallon brought to the table enough to bring him into the creative process, and we don't know when that occurred due to no public announcement or fanfare, only that it was already solidified by 2012, when writing for Too Weird had already started. Considering his involvement in the final stages of Vices & Virtues in mid-2010, and the numerous circumstantial things that show Dallon becoming more & more heavily involved in the band through 2011, to his 2012 confirmation that he is indeed a full-time member, it seems reasonable to assume this occurred *sometime* between 2010 & 2012. And there's a particular Shanghai show seems to add up to the timeline. But of course, these aren't sources, and frankly there most likely just isn't a source we can reference.
I'll let folks deliberate what should be done, but I know that he's been involved in internal band affairs since at least 2011.
Either way, if you don't want to put Dallon officially joining due to this, I suppose that's fair. But I also feel its fair and accurate to add his touring status on the timeline, both before and after. MCR does the same with James Dewees. So does the Grateful Dead with members that came & went. JesseAF13 (talk) 06:29, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
Dan Pawlovich, Nicole Row, Mike Naran, Mike Viola and Jake Sinclair being added to Members section.
I've found evidence suggesting that, after Pray For The Wicked, Panic at the Disco became an actual band again. Obviously there are numerous articles saying that they aren't, but so many websites quote each-other, making incorrect info seem like fact. If they get their info from Wikipedia, then even if it turns out the info from WP is wrong, it'll basically be too late.
Enough of that, though. Here is my evidence. In the descriptions of PATD's music videos, such as "High Hopes", it outright says that Panic! is more than Brendan. "The official YouTube channel of multi-platinum rock band Panic! At The Disco. The band consists of Brendon Urie, Dan Pawlovich, Nicole Row, and Mike Naran." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPXIgEAGe4U
The liner notes for Viva Las Vengeance credit various people in separate sections, but Brendan, Mike Viola, Jake Sinclair, Butch Walker, Rachel White and Dan Pawlovich are all credited together. Pawlovich is credited along with all of them, even though he only was a technician on the album- other engineers and technicians are credited separately. This is in contract to the liner notes for Pray For The Wicked, where Brendan was soley credited as Panic.
"ME!" by Taylor Swift says "featuring Brendan Urie of Panic! at the Disco", instead of just saying "featuring Panic! at The Disco".
The music videos for the VLV era all feature the other long-term members of the band, those being Nicole, Mike Naran, and Dan. AlmostTuesday (talk) 04:29, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
- Reliable sources that specifically describe every single member here as part of Panic! beyond touring are needed. And quite a hefty amount at that to even give the illusion of outweighing all sourcing that describes Panic! as a solo project—including the band themselves. And sourcing that claims Panic! became a legitimate band again seemingly only after Pray for the Wicked. And so on and so forth. As is, this is really just a personal interpretation of Panic!.
- Also, some of your logic contradicts itself. You claim that the crediting in the description for the High Hopes music video, which likely wasn't even written by the band but rather a social media manager, is proof that Panic! is a band. Yet, you cite the liner notes of Pray For The Wicked—the album that High Hopes is on—as proof Panic! was, at the time, only a solo project and then proof that Panic! was seemingly a band after that? I think this sort of misalignment also applies to the rest of your argument because, at best, these are discrepancies. It is perfectly reasonable for touring members to be credited equally alongside the actual band members or the singular true member of the band, especially if they play with the band long term. Yet, they still wouldn't be officially part of the band.
- To give an example that I personally know, My Chemical Romance has been touring with Jarrod Alexander and Jamie Muhoberac as their drummer and keyboardist since reuniting six years ago, and played on their only post-reunion release. They are still not considered part of the band by the other band, the majority of their press and promotional material, by sources, and by Warner/Reprise. You may find a couple of things here and there with the two alongside the rest of the band, but it's all rare enough to not really mean anything. Likewise, Brendon is pretty much universally agreed on by their own equivalents of those things to be the sole member of Panic!, save for a few discrepancies. I don't think that we should be considering Panic! to be a band as it would go against the majority of the sources, and the word of them and the record label.
- Also, while we're somewhat on a related topic, List of Panic! at the Disco band members could probably be brought back. I feel like this subject has enough depth and coverage to warrant a dedicated article... λ NegativeMP1 05:12, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
