Respiratory failure vs. Respiratory distress
Does anyone think Respiratory distress should redirect here (rather than to respiratory distress syndrome)? -- JVinocur 01:29, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
I thought that respiratory distress was just difficulty breathing ie dyspnoea and that respiratory failure is the specific 'respiration resulting in Po2 less than 8kPa' anyone clear up?
- No, respiratory distress is a symptom of respiratory failure but may also be encountered in other conditions such as metabolic acidosis. JFW | T@lk 14:58, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
