Talk:Sexual intercourse

Sex images

It is obvious that the images in the article are explicit and don't shoow any educational purpose. One example is the first image by Edouard Henri Avil guy, he throughout his lifetime made erotic paintings especially for the elite...it was basically for entertainment... ~2026-31792-1 (talk) 11:14, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

l don't see how one could have a non-explicit image showing sexual intercourse. As for the image being erotica, you are correct. We could no doubt use a photo instead, though we'd have to be very careful to ensure the individuals involved had given the necessary permission. Using art avoids this issue. dubious first intercourse claim

Here's the quote in the article:

Concerning United States data, tabulations by the National Center for Health Statistics report that the age of first sexual intercourse was 17.1 years for both males and females in 2010.

This does not tell us anything about the cohort on which this is based. Typically, such a summary should indicate either the ages of the people they asked or people born in a certain range of years. The claim made that age of first sex was the same for both males and females is at least suspicious. Is that a result of the methodology or is it just a coincidence?

These claims about (mean?) age of first intercourse should either be seriously improved or simply removed. See revision of 9 February 2013 for the relevant edit. Fabrickator (talk) 10:00, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
