Early life

Contreras was born in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and moved with her family to the border city of Tijuana, Baja California, at age three - I advise you add "Mexico" after Sonora since the full location would be helpful for international readers.
 Done

Contreras attended the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS), Tijuana campus, where she continued playing flag football at the university level for the Osas CETYS Tijuana,[10] helping the team win the 2014 LIFA championship.[11][12] - Copyedit to this for better flow: Contreras attended the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS) in Tijuana, where she played flag football for the Osas CETYS Tijuana, contributing to the team's 2014 LIFA championship.
 Done

helping the team win the 2014 LIFA championship - Could we spell out the LIFA org that way readers know what it may be?
 Done

She earned her Licentiate degree in marketing administration in 2016.[13] - licentiate should be lower case here.
 Done

Career

at the 2020 International Bowl in Arlington, Texas - "United States" at the end for our international readers unfamiliar with these locations
 Done

International career

helping the Mexican team the a fourth-place finish. - helping the Mexican team to a fourth-place finish

hopeful Iván Méndez Nuza spoke on the significance of Contreras's - Source has him as "Iván Roberto Méndez Nuza" so please spell it out.

2023 IFAF Americas Continental Championship - There's not a link to 2023 IFAF Americas Continental Championship. Considering there is one for other competitions, should we create a redlink per WP:REDLINK?

My personal opinion is to leave as is. I don't believe the individual yearly competitions would meet the WP:GNG, especially in its early iterations, hence why I only created the general competition page at IFAF Americas Continental Flag Football Championship. This could change in the future, and I would be happy to change the links if so. JTtheOG (talk) 07:32, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Works for me, thanks for the context. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 01:57, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

at the 2024 IFAF Women's World Championship in Finland. - Does the ref cite the city? You add city for other locations including China's competition so figured we could do it here too.
Done It didn't but I added an additional ref that did. JTtheOG (talk) 07:36, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

However, Contreras was unable to join the team at the 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championship in Penonomé due to injury.[37] - Is there an article for 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championship? If not, I will rely on you to let me know if we should redlink this per WP:REDLINK
 Done

Infobox

1993 - I would say this should be included in the body paragraphs too in early life (with a ref, of course), per MOS:INFOBOXCITE. You don't need a ref in the infobox if it is cited elsewhere in the article.
 Done

Position I would advise you find a way to integrate her positions to the body paragraphs. None of them except center are mentioned there but it would be great to see how this developed over her career.

Unfortunately, that sort of in-depth information isn't really available. This source calls her a center/wide receiver while this source mentions her defensive role, although it doesn't specify her position on defense. I was thinking of maybe adding a sentence at the end of the section, something like "Contreras played as a center and wide receiver, in addition to a(n occasional?) role on the defense." Either that, or inserting a similar sentence directly after the "emblematic center, captain, and voice of the team" quote. I'm curious what you think would be best. JTtheOG (talk) 21:45, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
I actually think it fits nicely there at the end. JTtheOG (talk) 22:54, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Agreed! Nicely done. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 01:58, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Done Thanks! JTtheOG (talk) 05:58, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

Club: Osas de Tijuana - Mentioned here but not cited/mentioned anywhere else. Please incorporate it to the body paragraphs with a source.

Lead

Per MOS:LEAD, the lead should summarize most of the major points in the article, and so far I think the lead should use maybe 2-3 more sentences that summarize the article better. It doesn't need sources if it is cited elsewhere so feel free to make the update and I can review!
Done but I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions because I'm terrible at leads. JTtheOG (talk) 07:47, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Ref: Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Americano profile - This external link is already cited elsewhere in the body so it should be removed per WP:EL

UNITED STATES X MEXICO WOMEN'S FINAL IFAF AMERICAS FLAG CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023. Game Highlights. FABR Highlights. 7 January 2025. Archived from the original on 18 August 2025. Retrieved 16 August 2025. - Titles should not be in all caps per MOS:ALLCAPS. This also applies to ref #s 37 and 40. Also I'm not too convinced this would be okay to use as a source per WP:RSPYT. Would you be able to establish that FABR Highlights is a notable news organization? Otherwise we may have to delete this. According to their video description apparently the video is found in IFAF.TV so perhaps you can look there to see if we can find it? That would be perfectly fine to use since we can establish IFAF's notability.

Contreras has worked to promote the sport of flag football in Mexico. She runs a YouTube channel called De FLAG con Silvia,[42] - Are you able to estbalish that she is actually running her YouTube video and it's not someone else posting on her behalf? I saw that reliable sources have talked about her FB page, but I couldn't find any confirming her YouTube channel is ran by her too. I tried looking in her FB page to see if she had her YouTube handle there somewhere but didn't find it. I worry we may have to delete since we cannot establish a true connection (FB link is totally fine since it has gotten third-party coverage).

Unfortunately, I might have to agree with you on this. I can't find anything at all mentioning her channel. I'm not even sure how I found it myself. JTtheOG (talk) 07:50, 18 June 2026 (UTC)  Done I have removed the mention of her channel. JTtheOG (talk) 21:45, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

"Silvia Contreras". Invictus Gloves. Retrieved 16 August 2025. - Not the best of sources given its a glove store in Canada. Would you be able to establish that this is a trustworthy publisher or perhaps cite this fact with another (better) source?

It appears like she is sponsored by the company, which seems like a reputable enterprise. Aside from Contreras, they also sponsor many of the top flag football players in the world, and even NFL players like Benjamin St-Juste and Devin Funchess. They also have notable ambassadors like Danny Woodhead. I'm wondering if this would be sufficient to use, especially to source the 2022 club national title, which I am otherwise only able to verify with a photo (allll the way down in "Profesional Femenil"). JTtheOG (talk) 07:32, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
That's helpful context. I'm OK with us keeping the source now that you've shared this rationale which establishes it is notable/reliable. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 02:00, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

Héroes Deportivos MX - For the record, I don't think Héroes Deportivos MX (the publisher) is a reliable source. Their entire site is down now but fortunately we have the archived version of her page. I found them on FB and found out in their about me description that they personalize these profiles for people, meaning people pay to be featured here and this would fall under promotional sources (WP:SPONSORED). I'm inclined to not use it here unless you have a different and good take for this. If we can find better sources let me know.

  • Comment - I'm fine keeping it for the DOB claim. What I'm concerned are the accomplishments which there's no way to independently verify. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 01:24, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

@JTtheOG: Any update? I see you active across other articles but not here. Please confirm if you can get this done before the weekend, otherwise I'll have to close this nom out. We typically keep articles on hold for 7 days before making a decision. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 22:16, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
Yes. Just as I said when I pinged you yesterday without a response, I will be completing this today. Thank you, JTtheOG (talk) 23:04, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
Cool - Thanks for adding the  Done tick to the bullet points. I'll use that to know when you've completed them. If you have any questions or comments let me know. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 17:41, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, I did have the question about the Invictus source and the infobox section, both above. I'm also open to suggestions for the lead! JTtheOG (talk) 21:45, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
I think this lead reads well now. Leads are tough! You can also run a prompt on Claude where you ask it to do bullet points of all the major points of the article, and then see if you hit all those with the lead that you've made (this is more of a future recommendation). Or you can write the lead and then ask Claude to see if there's anything it recommends you add. Give it a limit in terms of size (i.e. one paragraph, 4-5 sentences, without going into too much detail).
Anyways, I see a few more things needed to be addressed so I'll be on standby! Thanks for the work done so far. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 02:05, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Sounds good, thanks. I just added a few bits as well. JTtheOG (talk) 02:52, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
Aside from your new comments, I think I've addressed everything except for the issue with the FABR Highlights video. JTtheOG (talk) 05:58, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
I'm wondering if this is the video? If it is, we can cite this one. We cannot use the YouTube one because they don't own the copyright per their description. Morogris (✉ • ✎) 16:53, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
@Morogris: Nice find! I checked and it indeed verifies the information, so I've replaced the YouTube source. Really sorry about my tardiness and thanks for taking on such a challenging article on an emerging sport. Please let me know if you have anything else and I'll address them asap. JTtheOG (talk) 04:15, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
All good now! Article meets the GA standards. Congratulations! Morogris (✉ • ✎) 14:12, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
