Hello. Congrats! You have already reviewed over 100 of my articles. Do you have any constructive criticism?
Kind regards Barr Theo (talk) 19:19, 3 February 2025 (UTC).
- @Barr Theo: Hey there. Your work on here is fantastic and I enjoy reading the new articles you turn out. Not just the bios, but the tournament season articles as well.
- I guess my only concern would be that some of the newer bios seem to lack SIGCOV and only cite databases or passing mentions of the subject, such as Enrique Rubio (footballer) or René Bonnet (footballer), while others cite sources of questionable reliability, such as this blog used to cite Luis Guzmán (footballer). I do understand the difficulty of compiling sources for subjects this old, as well as the frustration of not being able to find reliable sources for subjects which were clearly notable in their time. I created John McAlery a few years back and included a questionable source as well. While I think one should always strive to find the best sourcing available, I also think it's important to cover subjects which normally don't have a light shone on them, as you said in your userpage. Keep up the fine work, meu irmão. JTtheOG (talk) 20:39, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- Wow, I wasn't expecting such a thoughtful and thorough reply.
- Yeah, I agree with your concern about those who lack SIGCOV, but they only represent like 3% of my overall work (nearly 600 pages). Regarding Guzmán, that was a mistake, and I have just removed that questionable source and replaced it with a better one. But yeah, sometimes I have "no choice" but to include a questionable source, such as Charles Hereford, John Henry Ball, or José Maria Zamacois.
- Also, if you enjoy reading my new articles so much, perhaps you should give me a star.
- Thank you for your encouragement and I hope you keep up the fine work as well
- Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 15:25, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- Doesn't warrant a new thread but I'm new and got a notification that you reviewed the page I created (Olympic gel). Since the page was not deleted I take it the review was successful? ProfKnots (talk) 15:45, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Disruptive name changes?
Hi,
I see you are very involved with sports article so I am here to seek you guidance regarding user Kaiyr. So I noticed a few articles on Chinese athletes of Kazakh descent have had their pages moved to use a different name. Apparently the user thinks we should not use these sinolized name and use a Kazakh version instead which you can't really see anywhere in english media. I disagree with this approach and consider it basically disruptive editing. For example Habila Abusayman, Walihan Sailike and Ulan Toleugazy the database names are different and for the first one, the database link doesn't even work anymore because the name doesn't match. This is not the first time the user has done this as I reverted it back in 2023. Im getting a bit tired of this so rather than getting into an edit war, I would like to seek your view on this first. Imcdc Contact 13:09, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Imcdc: Hi there. While this wouldn't necessarily be my area of expertise, I do agree that it is disruptive on their part. I also saw that the article in my watchlist, Wulan Tuolehazi, has been reverted to its original name, so thank you for that. Nice work. JTtheOG (talk) 21:10, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 March newsletter
The first round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As a reminder, we are no longer disqualifying the lowest-scoring contestants; everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned from Wikipedia. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. Unlike the round points in the main WikiCup table, which are reset at the end of each round, tournament points are carried over between rounds and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far.
Round 1 was very competitive compared with previous years; two contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 500 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1,168 round points, mainly from 4 featured articles and 4 good articles on old military history, in addition to an assortment of GA and FA reviews.
Generalissima (submissions) with 1,095 round points, mainly from 2 FAs, 2 featured lists, 8 GAs, and 16 Did You Know articles mainly on historical topics.
BeanieFan11 (submissions), with 866 round points from 20 GAs, 23 DYKs, and 2 In the News articles primarily about athletes.
Sammi Brie (submissions), with 846 round points from 16 GAs about radio and TV stations, 45 GA reviews, and 3 DYKs.
Hey man im josh (submissions), with 816 round points from 5 FLs about sports and Olympic topics, 46 FL reviews, 3 ITN articles, and a large number of bonus points.
MaranoFan (submissions), with 815 round points primarily from 3 FAs and 1 GA about music, in addition to 9 article reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 18 featured articles, 26 featured lists, 1 featured-topic article, 197 good articles, 38 good-topic articles and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 23 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 550 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2, which begins on 1 March. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! Request
Hello, I don't know if there are restrictions on who is allowed to move an article to draftspace, so to save myself the trouble (and time I don't have today), I was wondering if you could make a move/judgement on this article that is entirely unsourced and of questionable notability. Thank you. Swinub★ 15:14, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'll also ask you to take a look at these two:

Renaming Borregos Salvajes Monterrey
@JTtheOG, I would also suggest possible adding football in the title of Borregos Salvajes Monterrey to distinguish it, even if it's only from the other non-notable sports. Doing so would also fix the problem that arises when using the standard "next/previous year" part of the infobox. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 19:13, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for your time reviewing my new stubs. I hope I'm not causing too much trouble. I also wanted to thank you specifically for creating Brestova Draga; that's an arduous job that I'm trying to automate a little now. My plan is to create around 10 articles a day, up to maybe 20 on a good day. Best wishes, Ponor (talk) 18:51, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you. Your work is very commendable. I've always been interested in the minutiae of geography and demographics (especially when there's pictures of the villages). I hope to create more articles on localities soon. If you truly want to reduce the backlog, though, you can request autopatrol rights. As long as you are careful with the article titles regarding administrative divisions and the corresponding Wikidata updates, which you have been doing diligently so far, you seem like a great candidate. Keep up the great work. JTtheOG (talk) 19:16, 23 March 2025 (UTC)

Reviews
Hello again. Don't you think you are getting a little bit TOO picky with your reviews? I mean, you are reviewing less and less of my articles. Luckily, I was able to find someone else who is willing to review everything that you left behind (User:North8000).
By the way, I still can’t believe that you tried to delete Raphaël van Praag. I thought we were allies!! We even both have “Theo” on our usernames, for God's sake!!
Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 02:30, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there. You should know that I have a tremendous amount of respect for your work. However, my reviewing standards have not changed. WP:SPORTCRIT clearly requires at least one source showing significant coverage of a sportsperson. I gave you some leeway at first since most of your articles are well written and had good coverage, even if not always from the most reliable of websites. However, it seems like many of your newer pages are sourced only to databases, fansites, and passing mentions in match reports/squad listings. Nonetheless, I’m glad that other editors were able to dig up quality sources on Van Praag, and touché on the username thing. Best wishes, JTtheOG (talk) 02:56, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Barr Theo: Thanks for the ping. You criticized me on my talk page and JTtheOG here. We are just trying to do our NPP job properly. I echo everything JTtheOG said. In essence, for these wp:notability is about having 1 or 2 suitable sources which cover the object of the article in depth. I've also been been giving some leeway for the same reasons that JTtheOG described above. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 19:58, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
Mexico
Hi JTtheOG. I've seen you write some decent things relating to Mexico before -- would you be able to check if there's any coverage to find on Ramiro Navarro, a Mexican FIFA World Cup player at AFD? Thanks, BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:26, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hey Beanie. I appreciate the ping. World Cup players now, huh? Unfortunately, the oldest archives for Mexican newspapers that I'm aware of don't go back further than the mid/late 1990s (a couple mentions), and even then I don't have access to the limited number of publications archived there. I added a few mentions from Newspapers.com, but I don't know if this notable athlete will survive deletion. JTtheOG (talk) 20:29, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

Help?
@JTtheOG I am new to this place and intend to write an article about the Amba River, a river in India. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Amba_River&redirect=no but I'm being redirected to the Russian Amba (river), they're separate river. Would you mind splitting them or guiding me? Thanks in advance. Pasados (talk) 17:57, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
Leeway
Hello. I’m here simply because I want to make sure whether you have ceased your leeway towards my creations, and if you will now start tagging them for deletion instead of “no sigcov” (like Márquez and Sena).
I would like to know because in May, I will undergo another “streak of creations” (just like March), and around 20% of them won't have sigcov (I’m sure you already suspected that). So, if your standards have changed, I would like to know. (Ping: North8000).
Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- While I look forward to reading your creations, biographies with no SIGCOV are liable to get sent to a discussion. I suggest using the fantastic resources listed at Wikipedia:List of online newspaper archives and focusing on subjects with at least one solid piece of SIGCOV, of which there are plenty. JTtheOG (talk) 18:10, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Liable... Hmm... Interesting word.
- Anyways, throughout May, I will be creating articles at a pace of 4-6 per day (just like March). Do you really think that I will have the time to be searching through endless rolls of newspaper archives? Of course not. But I might just have the ideal solution for that... Cause I noticed that you have become rather good at using those resources (you referenced lots of them on the discussions of Zwieteren and Sena), so what about this: I don't change my Modus operandi whatsoever (both for good and bad), while you add those newspaper sources (if necessary and if existant of course).
- It seems like a dream collab, right? We can even call our partnership "The Theos". You gotta admit, it's got a nice ring to it.
- Deal? Barr Theo (talk) 23:59, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Liable: likely to do, happen, or experience something
- To answer your question: Yes, I would hope that you care enough about your subjects to ensure they meet the proper notability guidelines, but I can't force you to do anything as we're all volunteers here.
- I'm not particularly good at using newspaper archives, having only recently discovered WP:LOONA. All I did was a simple search of their names. If you have the time to create hundreds of biographical articles, I think you have the time to type their name into an extra search bar or two. Then again, volunteer work. Though, in theory, wouldn't it help your mission more to create 1-3 well-researched, fleshed-out articles per day rather than speeding through 6 poorly-sourced, incomplete articles per day? Wouldn't you want to find more information on your subjects rather than less? Respectfully, I have my own projects I'd like to continue contributing to, but I wish you luck on your streak. JTtheOG (talk) 00:32, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
Discussion about a subject’s notability
Hi there, hope you're doing well. You recently reviewed one of my articles—thanks for that. Since you're a new page reviewer, I thought I’d reach out to discuss a subject’s notability with you. I’ve been working on creating a potential article and wanted to get a second opinion before moving forward. I’m from India, and I came across an The Indian Express article about a mountaineer who recently became the fastest Indian woman to climb two 8,000-metre peaks, including Everest, in 20 hours and 45 minutes. It caught my attention, so I looked her up and found several reliable sources covering her, including Indian Express, The Hindu, Hindustan Times, and others. There’s also solid coverage in a few well-known Hindi-language sources. I’ve created around 20 articles so far, and I’m fairly comfortable with notability guidelines. That said, in this case, I just wanted to be sure—my gut says she meets the General Notability Guideline, as the coverage seems significant and independent. Still, since it’s a bit of a niche area, I thought it’d be helpful to get another editor’s take before proceeding. Would love to hear your thoughts when you get a chance. Afstromen (talk) 09:26, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hey there. I do think this looks like enough coverage to meet GNG, especially if you are able to use the coverage to flesh out an article with decent prose. JTtheOG (talk) 03:35, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate you taking a look. I agree it seems like there's sufficient coverage to meet GNG, especially if it's used to build out a well-written article. I’ll start drafting something and see how it shapes up.
- Afstromen (talk) 13:02, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there,
- I’ve created an article about this mountaineer. thank you for reviewing it earlier and for your help regarding her notability; your guidance was much appreciated.
- I also have a few other articles that have been awaiting review for quite a long time. I’d be very grateful if you could take a moment to review them when possible. Articles - Vani Prakashan, Ram Singh (boxer).

LNBPF
Hi JTtheOG,
I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out because I’m working on improving the visibility of professional basketball in Mexico, and I noticed that the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil (LNBPF) doesn’t yet have a detailed article on the English Wikipedia. Since I saw that you’ve contributed to sports-related articles in English, I thought you might be able to help.
I’m more familiar with Spanish, so writing the article in English with the right style and format is a bit challenging for me. Would you be interested in collaborating or guiding me through the process of creating a solid article for the LNBPF?
I’d really appreciate any help or advice you could offer!
Thanks in advance, Merlyn26 (talk) 00:34, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Merlyn26: my sincerest apologies for forgetting to respond. I’ve been working on Mexican basketball as well and plan to continue doing so. I see you’ve gone on and started the page; nicely done! (you’ve also turned a red link blue on Mayra Gil, so thank you!) I’ll be happy to copyedit and add to it over the coming weeks, and maybe even start the LMBPF as well. Keep up the great work and don’t hesitate to reach out again. JTtheOG (talk) 23:05, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Merlyn26: A propósito, cuantas temporadas hubo de la LNBPF original? De 2014 a 2017...? De 2014 a 2019...? La verdad que no tengo bien entendido esta primera etapa de la liga. Saludos, JTtheOG (talk) 02:02, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

- Dear JTtheOG, Are the links from the Hungarian Swimming Federation as the official organizer and from the Nemzeti Sport as the most widely read Hungarian sports portal not enough? I can't really point to more independent sources, because only these two websites gave news about this event. So what should we do now? Best regards, Cakesam (talk) 21:25, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

Kentucky Handicap
The existing article is a silent film that says it is sometimes called Kentucky Luck. The IMDb ref leads to a poster which bears the title "The Kentucky Handicap" with horses racing on the track. I have been working on the actual race with that name and was run at Churchill Downs for at least 30 years. Could you please advise me how I should name my Kentucky Handicap article. Thanks. - and thanks for the enormous efforts you do here at Wikipedia. Xavier Newcombe (talk) 14:49, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Xavier Newcombe: Hey there. I think Kentucky Handicap (horse race) would be just fine. It looks like other articles, such as Champions Cup (horse race), Victoria Cup (horse race), and Yorkshire Cup (horse race) follow a similar format. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 23:17, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
Template:Biography
Template:Biography ProudWatermelon (talk) 22:10, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @ProudWatermelon: That’s a sample layout. It is certainly not the standard for modern sportsperson biographies and especially not for rugby union articles. I would invite you to look at notable players such as Gaël Fickou, Beauden Barrett or Willie le Roux for a better idea of what you can expect in the subject area you’re currently operating in. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 22:16, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- There are no rules, except Template:Biography, then, your opinion isn't worth more than mine. I did the page, first choice rule. It sure isn't the standard if you change them all, I can do that too. ProudWatermelon (talk) 22:18, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @ProudWatermelon: A template is not a rule. You don’t WP:OWN those pages any more than I do so I’m not sure what “first choice rule” means. I know they use the “biography” section header in other Wikipedias, such as the French wiki, but again, that’s not the standard here. Otherwise, the Fickou, Barrett and Le Roux articles would look like the Mwayembe article, which they don’t. JTtheOG (talk) 22:30, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 May newsletter
The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. These tournament points are carried over between rounds, and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers at the end of each round. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,233 round points from 24 good articles, 28 Did you know articles, and one In the news nomination, mainly about athletes and politicians
Thebiguglyalien (submissions) with 1,127 round points, almost entirely from two high-multiplier featured articles on Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) and Grace Coolidge, in addition to two GAs and two reviews
History6042 (submissions) with 1,088 round points from four featured lists about Michelin-starred restaurants, nine good articles and a good topic mostly on Olympic-related subjects, seven ITN articles, and dozens of reviews
Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1,085 round points from three FAs, one GA, and four DYKs on military history, as well as 18 reviews
Arconning (submissions) with 887 round points, mostly from four FLs, six GAs, and seven DYKs on Olympic topics, along with more than two dozen reviews
In addition, we would like to recognize
Generalissima (submissions) for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Names
Hey JT. I noticed that you have recently created four articles about given names (Ferran, Nerea, Loida, and Izan), something that you had never done before in your 12 years as a Wikipedian. So, why now?
Well, I got a theory. Perhaps I'm just trippin, but I couldn't help to notice that your sudden urge to create given names just so happen to coincide with your reviews on my surnames (for instance, Zwieteren, Ispizua, Caudron, and Macaya on 19 April). Weird, right?
So, is this just a coincidence or were you subconciensly inspired by me? Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 23:59, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, probably. Plus I found the INE database. T'was quite helpful. JTtheOG (talk) 03:34, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I freaking knew it!!
- Anyways, I will now engage in another “streak of creations” (May edition). This time, I have scheduled a bit less (120-130 biographies). I will let you know that if you tag any of my articles for deletion, I won’t interrupt my streak to defend them, so go easy on me. To be honest, I would be surprised if I reached June with my 0% deletion ratio still intact…
- See ya in June. Kind regards. Barr Theo (talk) 23:59, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
Walter Francis Schenck
Hello @JTtheOG! Would you be able to chime in on the discussions here for an article I recently created, you seem to review a ton of my articles so I figured I'd get your opinion.Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Walter Francis Schenck Thief-River-Faller (talk) 17:52, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Thief-River-Faller: Hey there. My apologies for the radio silence. I did look at the article, however, both before and after your message, and I think I'd have to agree with the nominator. It's tough for these historical figures but without meeting WP:NPOL, better coverage would have probably been needed to meet WP:GNG or WP:BASIC. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 23:41, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

WP:NPP review
Hi. I'm starting to do re-reviews for WP:NPP. I started a re-review on the article 2025 Morehead State Eagles football team. Can you help me understand what criteria are used to determine if teams/seasons are notable? I'm not sure how the article meets WP:NTEAM or WP:NSEASONS ... but I'm not an expert in sports articles. Thanks! Noleander (talk) 18:30, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Noleander: Hi there. Thanks for taking this on. Yeah, it's an edge case and the article is not great, but Morehead State competes at the highest level of collegiate athletics in the U.S., where we generally assume there to be SIGCOV for all modern football team seasons. You'll find that there will not be a single missing team season article for Division I programs going back several years (although there are several that need some TLC).
- I've tried arguing against the way-too-early creation of these football season articles, but with so many editors interested in college football, it's bound to get recreated in a few days or weeks. I've also draftified and tagged as "no sigcov" in the past, because I agree that they should not be published without SIGCOV, but this too has received pushback. There does seem to be a tiny bit of coverage from the offseason for the season in question, which I've now added, but I have very little doubt that more coverage will soon become available. Nevertheless, thanks for the message and your due diligence. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 19:40, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
Draft:Naagzilla
Hi, I am thankful to you for reviewing my page yesterday as it was my first movie page and it went live in a flash on Google. I was really upbeat but today I can see someone has undone it and put it in the draft space. Could you kindly help in getting it up perhaps. Thank you again! Your contributed article, Kōhei Akagi (Member of parliament)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Kōhei Akagi (Member of parliament). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Kōhei Akagi (politician). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Kōhei Akagi (politician). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Dan arndt (talk) 07:47, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

Martin Musau moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Martin Musau. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Mekomo (talk) 08:19, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello JTtheOG:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.

Draftify request: Sajjad Ibraheem
Hello, I would like to kindly request the page Sajjad Ibraheem to be draftified instead of deleted.
I created the article in good faith after reading Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/Notability#Individuals, which states that a cricketer who has played a single officially recognized first-class match is usually considered notable. I did not notice any "inactive" status tag on the guideline at the time of writing, and believed it to be valid and in line with precedent.
Sajjad Ibraheem made his debut in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which is the highest level of first-class cricket in Pakistan. Given that, I believe there is a strong chance that more reliable coverage (especially from English and urdu sources) will emerge in the coming months as his career progresses.
Therefore, I respectfully request that the article be moved to Draft space rather than deleted, so that I can improve it over time with better sourcing as they become available.
Thank you. – Behappyyar (talk) 07:17, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Martín Urdiroz
Keeping my 0% deletion ratio is slowly becoming a burden, so I was secretly hoping for Martín Urdiroz to be deleted (hence why I didn’t vote at first). I was quite surprised that both Svartner and Clariniie clutched out with the redirect option.
To be honest, it is a miracle that I still have a 0% deletion ratio... I mean, I have already faced six AFDs (five of which nominated by you), and all of them resulted in keeps or redirects. How crazy is that?
By the way, I have thoroughly enjoyed your numerous clean-ups on my articles. Could you please also clean-up Josep Elías, José Luis Gallegos, José María Gayarre, and Edmond Weiskopf. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 01:23, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- lol What ever happened to Broese van Groenou JTtheOG (talk) 01:41, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Broese van Groenou is currently safe and sound in this draft, my friend. Because, you see, everything that is deleted via Prod, can always be undeleted. In fact, that is exactly what I did with two of your creations: Travis Cantrell and Fatmir Prengaj, thus successfully cutting down your deletion ratio from 2.4% to 1.9%.
- Its funny, because you endorsed the Prod on Prengaj, but now you are allowing him to stay around... Given that you also endorsed the Prod on Broese van Groenou, I wonder if you will let him stay too, when I put him back in the main space. I hope you don't have double standards for your own articles.
- Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 02:12, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- “Deletion ratio” means absolutely nothing, my friend. Theres a reason you don’t see anyone else on here talking about it. There’s articles on my list (such as Sean Jones (Basketball player)) which I had nothing to do with, and there are other articles, like Rafael Palomar, Shannon Baker (gridiron football), or Les Barley where I am responsible for 99% of the content even though I didn’t technically create them. Or in your case, where you’ll go to great lengths to artificially preserve a meaningless number, at the detriment of the project and your fellow collaborators.
- Like I’ve said before, the sooner you abandon this self-aggrandizing crusade, the more fun you’ll have. Also, why in the world were you hoping to start a fight with BrazilianDude? JTtheOG (talk) 03:31, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'm actually having a lot of fun with this "self-aggrandizing crusade" about preserving my 0% deletion ratio. TBH, I never expected to come this far, but six AFDs later, and here we are.
- Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 02:12, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- "at the detriment of the project", it's not my fault that the project allows PRODs to be undeleted. I can only play with the cards that are given to me.
- "Why were you hoping to start a fight with BrazilianDude?", so you do stalk me after all. But hey, just as you don't mind me stalking you, I also don't mind you stalking me.
- Regarding @BrazilianDude70:, he currently has 2,186 articles with ZERO deletions!! He is probably the only user on Wikipedia who can claim to have +2,000 articles with ZERO deletions, so I was simply hoping to break his streak by requesting AFDs on Óscar Daza, which fails WP:SPORTCRIT and WP:GNG. In fact, according to Dude himself, "at the time, we were basing GNG on WP:NFOOTY", which deprecated a few years ago. For unclear reasons, however, @Geschichte: is reluctant to start this AFD, even though the Dude himself gave him permission to do so.
- Speaking of which, could you be as kind as to start this AFD? I'm sure Daza is no different from Miguel Márquez (footballer), that is, someone with insufficient in-depth coverage in the internet age. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 12:59, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Luis7M: Again, I asked you to stop talking with our about me, so please stop mentioning me everywhere you go with your own journey of self-gratification. I don't want to engage any conversation with an user who thinks this is a WP:HIGHSCORE, or want to be "bigger" or "better" than anyone else. If your edit count is a burden to you (and it shouldn't be, in my opinion, since your articles are good and that's what really matters), please stop bothering others about it and solve your own problems.
- As I said on Geschichte's talk page, if anyone feels that Daza is not up to standards, feel free to start a WP:AfD. By the way, you are able to put up an AfD yourself, and others can vote. Cheers, BRDude70 (talk) 13:11, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- @BrazilianDude70:: First of all, it was JTtheOG who brought you into the conversation, not me. Second of all, I have never put up an AfD, and I surely won't start now, because I'm a staunch supporter of turning Wikipedia Green and not Red. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 13:23, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- You pinged him after being asked to stop engaging him. And you would never put up an AfD, just badger other editors to target BD70’s articles so they could delete them because you want to challenge his WP:HIGHSCORE in a meaningless stat which only you care about. JTtheOG (talk) 21:31, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah I bet you are having fun while the rest of us babysits you and cleans up your messes, such as the Miguel Márquez shitshow or any other of your latest tantrums. That first sentence of your reply says all we need to know about you. We’ll still be here when you’re ready to engage in adult conversations. Until then, I’m done. Sayonara, JTtheOG (talk) 19:49, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Damn... how did we went from "I have a tremendous amount of respect for your work" to this...
- "the rest of us", speak for yourself, because the only user babysitting me is you, which I don't mind at all. In fact, I have come to deeply appreciate your numerous clean-ups on my articles. After all, "we are all here to learn and collaborate". I hope we can still remain allies.
- And yes, preserving my 0% deletion ratio has been fun, but as I said at the beginning of this thread, it's also been a burden, namely for situations like the Miguel Márquez shitshow. I mean, that was by far my lowest point as an Wikipedian.
- Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 16:59, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Regarding "unclear reasons", I gave a clear reason. You were baiting/outright trolling another user on the talk page of a third user. I declined to engage in that, and would ask of you not to perpetuate such behaviour. It's only worse if the interaction is "for fun". Geschichte (talk) 09:01, 14 June 2025 (UTC)

AFD rate
Please slow down with your AFDs - the high number is disruptive and means it is difficult for editors to spend the time having constructive discussions/finding sources etc. - there is no rush. GiantSnowman 10:32, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Mea culpa. I was the one who requested the restoration of several articles from UncleTupelo1, and was unlucky enough for most of them to have been PRODed by JT, with whom we quarrel recently. I should have requested the restoration of PRODs from +10 years ago, like Javier Mandaluniz and Carlos Ramos Blanco. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 13:32, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello, JTtheOG,
Does not it matter that I am the creator of both, the "Anexo" and the "List"? Besides, giving attribution or credit to myself... would not it be way kind of boastful? I have translated the Spanish version by using a notepad note on my desktop computer; then, I created the English Version.

Citations at Ed Carberry
I noticed that your GA nomination Ed Carberry has a few tags for sourcing. I thought I'd leave you a message since this seems minor enough that it could probably be addressed without someone giving it a quickfail. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 19:21, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

FootballDatabase.eu
Hi JTtheOG. Thanks for expanding César Medina. Going forward, please do not use FootballDatabase.eu as a reference. It has been categorised as unreliable; see WP:WPFLINKSNO for details. Luis7M had in fact already removed FootballDatabase.eu at César Medina in the edit right before yours. I have removed it again. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 00:08, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Robby.is.on: Yeah my bad, it was a previous version of the page that was stuck in purgatory (my notes app) since before said edit. Cheers, JTtheOG (talk) 00:12, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- I would like to echo @Robby.is.on:'s sentiment about thanking for expanding César Medina. Very nice work! Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 02:05, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

An apology
I’ve just realised that if I use the NPP tool to tag an article that’s already reviewed, it either unreviews it or changes the reviewer name, depending on a checkbox setting. I’ve been looking at 505noscope’s cactus pages which, despite repeatedly reminding the editor to give full details, all still contain bare urls. But the reason I’m posting here is to apologise for over-writing your NPP reviews. --Northernhenge (talk) 22:01, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
WikiCup 2025 September newsletter
The fourth round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 29 August. The penultimate round saw three contestants score more than 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,175 round points, mainly from sports-related articles, including 17 good articles, 27 did you know articles, and 9 in the news articles
Arconning (submissions) with 1,090 round points, mainly from articles about athletes and politicians, including a featured article on Philippines at the 1924 Summer Olympics, 9 good articles, 28 did you know articles, and a wide assortment of featured and good article reviews
AirshipJungleman29 (submissions) with 854 round points, mostly from a high-scoring featured article on the Indian leader Rani of Jhansi and two good articles, in addition to 13 featured and good article reviews
Everyone who competed in Round 4 will advance to Round 5 unless they have withdrawn. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far, while the full scores for Round 4 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 9 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 98 good articles, 9 good topic articles, more than 150 reviews, nearly 100 did you know articles, and 18 in the news articles.
In advance of the fifth and final round, the judges would like to thank every contestant for their hard work. As a reminder, any content promoted after 29 August but before the start of Round 5 can be claimed in Round 5. In addition, note that Round 5 will end on 31 October at 23:59 UTC. Awards at the end of Round 5 will be distributed based on who has the most tournament points over all five rounds, and special awards will be distributed based on high performance in particular areas of content creation (e.g., most featured articles in a single round).
Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges – Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs), Epicgenius (talk · contribs), Frostly (talk · contribs), Guerillero (talk · contribs) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs) – are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck!

New Generation page review
Hi Admin, I see you addedAT tag. However I added few details in Chinese wikipedia with reference, thought to create english page. I made efforts to research on new information on the series which are added to article. Few part I kept it same thinking it gives clarity as in cast section. Let me know what action is required from me to remove that tag. Regards SakuraSmart (talk) 06:16, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

2025 Australian Open - Wheelchair boys' doubles
Hi,
I recently created the new page for the wheelchair boys' doubles & you reviewed it for me. However, I have noticed that, for some reason, the page title is '2025 Australian Open Open – Wheelchair boys' doubles' (for some reason the word 'Open' appears twice).
I did not create it with that title. Do you know why it has been created like that & how can it be fixed to remove the extra 'Open'?
Thanks for your help FingersLily (talk) 09:52, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @FingersLily! I don't normally answer on behalf of other reviewers, however I know that JT has been extremely busy with reviewing new pages for the backlog drive this month. For that reason I feel it is appropriate for me to answer. It appears that 2025 Australian Open Open – Wheelchair boys' doubles is a duplicate of 2025 Australian Open – Wheelchair boys' doubles. I have marked the first one for speedy deletion under WP:A10, as two identical pages are unnecessary. Thank you! 11WB (talk) 19:30, 19 September 2025 (UTC)

DYK for Silvia Contreras
On 23 September 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Silvia Contreras, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Thanks for reviewing the page. Can I ask, what does that involve?
Martin Ojsyork (talk) 17:12, 24 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Ojsyork: Hello. Nice work on your article. It pretty much just means it's been checked for copyright violations, AI-generated text, unattributed translations, non-free images, proper tone/referencing/formatting/categorization, etc. that sort of stuff. New pages are not indexed by external search engines until they are patrolled. JTtheOG (talk) 19:58, 24 September 2025 (UTC)

A cheeseburger for you!
| Thank you for always being the first to review my work as soon as I've submitted it! I take it by the fact that very few revisions are made, and especially not tags, that I'm doing something right. I hope I've helped you learn a lot about the politics of Spain, football around the world, and everything else that I end up amazed when there wasn't already an article about it! Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello JTtheOG:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.
Would you mind reviewing two tiny articles I made?

Sara - Woman in the Shadows
Hi Admin, I'm trying to create English Wikipedia based on this articles Italian page. Slight confusion on placing of notes,
Should syntax --> be used before placing
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing Italian dia article at fr:ExaFrench Wikipedia article at it:Sara_-_La_donna_nell'ombraits history for attribution. <-- OR directly place the notes. Your advice will be welcomed Regards SakuraSmart (talk) 03:43, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- @SakuraSmart Hello there. I'm not actually an admin, but I'm happy to help. The way you did it was fine. I am able to click the link to the Italian article and see where you translated it from. JTtheOG (talk) 03:50, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for guidance, I appreciate. So I understand directly place notes once article is created before publishing/ Submission. SakuraSmart (talk) 03:52, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, the note is placed in the edit summary right above the "publish" button. JTtheOG (talk) 04:18, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

AI
Can you explain to me how my tone is AI?
Please note that neurodivergent people are often misinterpreted for AI. https://www.studentdisciplinedefense.com/ai-concerns-for-the-neurodivergent https://teaching.unl.edu/ai-exchange/challenge-ai-checkers/ https://www.kaltmanlaw.com/post/ai-detectors-academic-integrity-bias https://hai.stanford.edu/news/ai-detectors-biased-against-non-native-english-writers https://www.vktr.com/ai-ethics-law-risk/do-ai-plagiarism-detectors-work-heres-what-the-research-says/ Docmoates (talk) 05:11, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- Absolutely. A clear sign is starting three different sentences with:
Denton County’s staff directory biography states...
According to Denton County’s staff directory biography...
Denton County’s staff directory biography states...
- This seems like it indicates that the text is AI-generated and a LLM pulled all this info together, while the "author" did not even bother to check that the same phrase is regurgitated three times in quick succession. A human writer would not need to constantly re-affirm where the information is coming from. That's what sources are for.
- The same goes for phrases like
Coverage summarized allegations that...
, which again sounds just like an LLM chatbot summarizing information for the user and is not at all an appropriate tone for Wikipedia. - Thirdly, WP:SYNTHESIS of sources using words such as "highlighted", "emphasized" or "underscores" are classic tell-tale signs of LLM usage.
- Fourthly, fake citations such as those used on Sarah Hollenstein Career and Technology Center are good indicators of LLM usage. Can you provide any evidence that an article titled "Schools play key role in workforce pipeline" appeared in the The Dallas Morning News? Or an article titled "Career center partners with local industry" ever appeared in the Fort Worth Business Press? Cuz they are exactly the sort of quick and snappy article titles that AI chatbots come up with.
- Fifth, sentences like
The title match was covered by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other Texas media outlets, and UIL posted the official state bracket and results.
have absolutely no place on Wikipedia. - If copying entire paragraphs of your text into an AI detector returns an 99% AI probability rating, then it's not a suitable tone for Wikipedia, wether you wrote it or not. JTtheOG (talk) 05:32, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- So to be clear, your entire argument is because of how I speak and my need to reference sources in my writing? If you have a problem with the way I write you can address the issue with me but assuming that everything I write is AI is in bad faith.
- I already addressed the citation issue with you and you said that was not the issue. I explained that citation machine is having issues. Docmoates (talk) 05:36, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- Also, FYI, per Wikipedia:Signs of AI writing "Do not solely rely on artificial intelligence content detection tools (such as GPTZero) to evaluate whether text is LLM-generated. While they perform better than might be achieved by chance, these tools have non-trivial error rates and cannot replace human judgment." Docmoates (talk) 05:43, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- My argument is that I am quite certain you are using AI, due to a wide variety of issues with your writing and sourcing. After replacing your last batch of fake citations and ignoring my question wether you could proved those articles existed, one of your new fake citations literally links to a Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert duet to a Stranger Things song. I can't tell if you're pulling my leg right now.
- Regardless of wether or not you are using AI chatbots without providing proper attribution is ultimately irrelevant because the end result sounds exactly like AI-generated text anyways.
- Your final point ignores the context which I've already provided. Obviously GPTZero is not enough on its own, which is why I've provided much more than that. JTtheOG (talk) 05:45, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- @JTtheOG It is more you who is confusing me. You stated my citation generator issue was not the reason you were concerned. Now you are saying that is the issue. That seems a bit dishonest.
- This is also dishonest:
- "Denton County’s staff directory biography states...
- According to Denton County’s staff directory biography...
- Denton County’s staff directory biography states...
- This seems like it indicates that the text is AI-generated and a LLM pulled all this info together, while the "author" did not even bother to check that the same phrase is regurgitated three times in quick succession. A human writer would not need to constantly re-affirm where the information is coming from." (emphasis added) 2 of these statements were at the top of the article and one 10 headings later. I wouldn't call that "quick succession."
- Regarding the "Coverage summarized allegations that..." and "The title match was covered by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other Texas media outlets, and UIL posted the official state bracket and results" my articles have been deleted in the past for notability issues and my understanding was that it was important to make the media coverage known.
- Rather than talking to me about your concerns, you choose to go to all of my articles and edits and make an assumption. In any event, I am done arguing. Let the admins handle everything. You could have used this oppertunity to collaborate with me and help me understand why you have concerns with my writing but instead, you made unfounded accusations. Have a nice night. I'm not too experienced with the Draft: workspace either, and what to do if one editor wants to create an article in mainspace for which a draft already exists. As there is no ownership of articles, one option is to just merge relevant content from your draft to the mainspace page, which is perhaps what you already did. Nomination of Rod Bockenfeld for deletion
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rod Bockenfeld until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Kind Request
Please stop following my edits across pages and processes. If you have concerns about a specific article, raise them on that article’s talk page with specifics. Continued pattern activity may be treated as harassment/WP:wikihounding. You have done it across multiple days. Docmoates (talk) 00:31, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. If one page presents an issue, it's pretty likely that others by that same user present the same issue, and it's certainly worth a check. It's not picking on you, it's an attempt to adhere to community guidelines. I apologize for the AI debacle. I have a strong aversion towards the technology, especially in regards to its effects on education, the distribution of knowledge, and naturally, Wikipedia, and your writing style heavily pointed towards that being the case. But if you assert that you wrote that yourself, then I must AGF.
- For cases of notability, though, that's more something that should be discussed by the community. If there's a misunderstanding of GNG, then those articles should be properly addressed and scrutinized through the appropriate means, especially in the case of living persons. JTtheOG (talk) 18:37, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- As per the guidelines you linked:
Correct use of an editor's history includes... fixing unambiguous errors or violations of Wikipedia policy, or correcting related problems on multiple articles.
JTtheOG (talk) 18:40, 18 December 2025 (UTC)- @JTtheOG - In the spirit of good faith would you agree to withdraw your Afd if I ask at the WP:ANI to have the articles Hannah Cox and Brad Polumbo put in draft space so I can work on them after the holidays. I will comeback to you personally after I have done the work to have you give me your thoughts? Docmoates (talk) 19:18, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2026 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2026 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here, and a bot will set up your submissions page within one day, ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page.
For the 2026 WikiCup, the highest-ranking contestants will receive tournament points at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. This is the same scoring system that we had last year. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants are no longer eliminated at the end of each round.
The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email), Epicgenius (talk · contribs · email), Frostly (talk · contribs · email), Guerillero (talk · contribs · email) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs · email). - Wow, New Page Reviewer of the Year. Congrats!
- Continuing our conversation from Beanie's talk page... Do you ever look at AfC? I feel like the vast majority of drafts are AI-assisted. Seriously, it's crazy. I basically just assume that any "newbie" AfC draft is AI-assisted unless proven otherwise (and new users are the only ones using AfC anyway). I pretty much only look at FloridaArmy's drafts nowadays because I know that he's doing stuff manually. I think a lot of articles from new users in the NPP feed are AI-assisted too. It's hard to tell sometimes though. People can rework the article to get rid of the easy AI "tells" while still leaving in hallucinations.
- For example, I think short articles like this could even be AI-assisted. There aren't any typos and the references are formatted neatly (see this from the same user for further evidence). I believe this from a different user is definitely AI-assisted. When I write long articles I always have typos while that article doesn't have any. The lack of typos or grammar mistakes in new articles (short or long) nowadays is really telling. And those are literally the first articles I clicked on.
- Sorry if this is long-winded. Do you come across AI a lot when doing NPP? ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 16:23, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry for messaging you again before you even had a chance to respond to my original message but I wanted to add some further evidence for my suspicions. I've left PutABoatOnTheWater a message in the past about using AI to generate articles but I believe they are still doing it. KiJuan Ware is a long article and has no grammar mistakes. (And yes I'm just linking URLs instead of piping because I don't want to give someone a linking notification somehow. Not trying to call anyone out, just listing examples lol) 10 years ago, very few newbie sports editors were making "perfect" start-class articles like this without any mistakes. And that article pretty much is perfect except for the lack of SIGCOV.
- Thanks for enduring my rant. Sorry for being annoying. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 18:00, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: Hey! A large part of what I do at NPP is knocking out short articles from very experienced editors (i.e. politicians meeting NPOL, towns meeting NGEO, bugs meeting NSPECIES, young footballers meeting NSPORT, disambs, etc.), many of which should probably be autopatrolled by now (I should make that initiative tbf). My eyes just gravitate towards the same usernames I've seen dozens or hundreds of times.
- When I spot AI language, I quickly check the sources to see if the article could qualify for G15. I'm really glad they added that criteria. But yeah, this wave of AI content has made me extremely weary of reviewing, for example, species articles any longer than 2 or 3 sentences. Anything more than that, and I get suspicious because of how easy it is to conceal now. Or articles on military subjects... Aside from being out of my wheelhouse, lots of articles on battles or army units just reek of LLM usage now, but I could say the same for many topics. So I mostly stick to sports, politics, geography, as well as my previously mentioned frequent customers.
- I think I tried reviewing some AfC drafts a while back after being invited to the process, but I was unable to figure it out. Maybe you could help me get back into it? And yeah, I think it's not a bad idea to assume that a large proportion of the newbie userbase is unfortunately using AI in some way or another. This is probably more true for non-native English speakers, to whom I imagine AI-generated language sounds very well-written.
- As for the examples, that's a good point about perfect grammar. There's also something about the way it's so succinctly summarized and organized, almost as if gathered and put together by a computer..... Cuz there's the long-winded, flowery language (droning on about underscoring, highlighting, reflecting the importance of blahblah), but there's also this perfectly(?) executed short&sweet summary of facts that it does now too. But yes, it will only get harder and harder to tell as both LLM tools improve and editors better learn how to use them (and how to hide their use). (Also,
*criollismo*
is 100% a sign of AI use, right? I always find it funny when the LLM messes up the markup.) - P.S. doesn't the Ware article pretty much just very closely paraphrase the sources? JTtheOG (talk) 19:36, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- You stated all that perfectly. Great catch about *criollismo*. I didn't see that. As for Ware, I'm just skeptical of any long drafts that have perfect grammar and spelling....
- I know what you mean about those obscure military articles. I always skip those... ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 19:43, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Sorry for disturbing you, i am a new editor; Can i ask what does "reviewed page" mean and what are the consequences of it? And tell me if i have to do any significant change for this page. Thank you and have a good day Alessandro User (talk) 08:42, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

Question
Hi JTtheOG, I'm wondering why the two articles I created (2026 Arkansas Razorbacks football team and 2026 LSU Tigers football team) both fall under WP:DRAFTIFY? Sorry I'm late by the way. Dylan Hackworth1 (talk) 02:34, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Dylan Hackworth1: Hey Dylan. As per WP:DRAFTREASON,
Common reasons for incubating an article to draftspace as an alternative to deletion include... 3. The article is about an upcoming event or forthcoming work that is not notable yet, but likely to become so in the near future
- The athletic program's website and fbschedules.com is not sufficient coverage to warrant an article with all empty sections nine months before the start of the season.
- Please see the comments at Draft:2026 Alabama Crimson Tide football team, for example. I encourage you to work on the articles in draftspace, filling out information about the coaching staff and recruits/transfers with strong sources. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 19:28, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Excessive review of my contributions
I appreciate your effort. however, please refrain from posting on my user talk page or reviewing my contributions. I find your edits to be non-constructive. Wieditor25 (talk) 03:34, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Wieditor25: There is no attempt being made at showing significant coverage of Buzunesh Gudeta or Anna Dibaba, which you recently recreated without improving. What am I to do when I come across these pages while reviewing new articles? JTtheOG (talk) 03:38, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- As I said I appreciate your contributions, but Wikipedia doesn't grant ownership of topics or entitlement. Please focus on constructive edits rather than following my edits. Speedy deletion of 2026 California Golden Bears football team

The page 2026 California Golden Bears football team has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football team
You moved 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football team to draft space without stating a reason. Please justify this action. Thank you for your attention to this matter. rogerd (talk) 16:07, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- I have made several additions to the article with references about the new coaching staff, which as you know, is not unusual when a new head coach is hired. Again, I am concerned that you moved the article without explaining your reasons for doing so. I think you will find that it is referenced as well, if not better than similar articles of other 2026 SEC teams Auburn, Georgia and Missouri. --rogerd (talk) 02:13, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
Draftification of 2026 season articles
As we have discussed elsewhere, consensus at the college football project is that we don't allow creation of season articles until the prior season has ended. We do permit such articles to be created, at a minimum for major teams, once the prior season has ended. Despite this consensus, you have in the past few days draftified several major college season articles, including such major teams as 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football team, 2026 LSU Tigers football team, 2026 Texas Longhorns football team, 2026 Purdue Boilermakers football team and 2026 Illinois Fighting Illini football team. I have now moved these back to main space. Let me know if you disagree. Cbl62 (talk) 13:19, 31 January 2026 (UTC)
- NOTE: I did not move some such articles back to mainspace which were of particularly low quality. E.g., Draft:2026 Oregon Ducks football team. Perhaps a broader discussion is needed at the college football project about minimum quality/content/sourcing standards for when an article can/should be allowed in main space. January–February 2026 NPP drive - Phase 2

Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!

Article for Deletion Discussion
I would like to support keeping Shovon Ahmed article. The subject appears to meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines because there is coverage from independent and reliable sources. I believe the article can be improved further by adding additional citations, improving neutrality, and expanding verifiable information. Deletion may remove useful encyclopedic content. Instead, improving sourcing and formatting would better align the article with Wikipedia standards. I am willing to help improve the article by adding reliable references and ensuring it follows Wikipedia policies. Arman360Editor (talk) 03:08, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

I checked every page created by the same creator, and every entry except two has been nominated for G3. Inquiry about 2026 North Dakota State Bison football team page
Hi JTtheOG! I discussed with you about the 2026 NDSU football page back in early January, and agreed with you that the page was too early. I have been maintaining and developing the page in Draftspace (Draft:2026 North Dakota State Bison football team. However, I just discovered that a page was created with the exact data from my draft article and put into articlespace. Both the draft and this new article exists. This was not me that did this, in fact more than before I think the article should stay in draftspace where I am maintaining it specifically because with the move to FBS - there is no schedule. The roster table on the page is incorrect since there is no 2026 roster yet and the ref link goes to the 2025 roster. I don't want to over step and propose deletion before I understand what exactly I should do here. Is proposing deletion the right thing here? Either way this article technically has no valid sources and the data on the entire page is invalid. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated!! Thanks! natethegreat4226 (talk) 06:05, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hey @Natethegreat4226: Sorry to hear that. I've PRODded the article in hopes of clearing the way for your draft, which I think can definitely be moved to mainspace. Think of all the coverage that has come from the FBS move alone. I'm sure they've had changes to the coaching staff and plenty of transfer portal movement as well. Happy editing and good luck this season! JTtheOG (talk) 06:16, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I will get to work and add some transfer portal and staff movement. I had the transfer portal on my todo list, but coach movement did not cross my mind. I figure once the MWC schedule is announced and the other sources are added, I will attempt to move it mainspace. Thank you again for your help, and yeah the Bison might need it! natethegreat4226 (talk) 06:20, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hey @JTtheOG: this has seemingly happened again that someone got impatient and just created an 2026 NDSU football article to mainspace even though I have an open draft. Is there anything we can do about this? natethegreat4226 (talk) 17:30, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Well done for all your work on this article. He clearly is notable after your efforts. Can I suggest the discography section is updated to distinguish between his mix tapes and albums, and also includes chart recognition as appropriate. - @Derek R Bullamore: The problem can sometimes be distinguishing between albums and mixtapes. Early on, they're all mixtapes, but it can get hard to tell after they make their major label debut, since they might drop a mixtape here and there in between the albums. This gets especially difficult if their popularity dies down a bit after their initial success, since the releases stop getting as much media coverage explicitly describing them as one or the other. Plus, their labels might be less willing to spend the money on a full studio album. JTtheOG (talk) 05:29, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter
The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
Bgsu98 (submissions) with 1,467 round points, largely gained from 1 featured article, 5 featured lists, 15 good articles, and 42 FAC and GAN reviews;
Olliefant (submissions) with 1,246 round points, largely from 4 featured lists, 9 good articles, 2 featured topic articles, 4 did you know articles, and 75 FAC and GAN reviews;
Generalissima (submissions) with 1,095 round points, largely from 3 featured articles, 6 good articles, and 5 did you know articles;
MCE89 (submissions) with 848 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 32 FAC and GAN reviews; and
Rollinginhisgrave (submissions) with 838 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 14 FAC, GAN, and peer reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table will be updated within the next few days.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Good luck! Reviewing AfC for Historical Dictionary of Switzerland
Hello,
I saw you've reviewed many of the articles I created using the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland (HDS) (example). Thanks a lot for that!
There's actually many, many more that should be created, so I would like to get the help from some people from my non-profit OKA for it. However, because they receive a grant from OKA, they are considered paid editors and therefore can only publish articles through Articles for Creation (AfC).
Typically the AfC process works fine, but in this particular case I worry that AfC reviewers will just decline the articles because they will see they have a single source only (as they won't be familiar with HDS). So I think it could help if we had 1-2 people like yourself who could review the AfC articles related to HDS? If you agree, we could find some kind of mechanism (e.g., an on-wiki or off-wiki list) to track the HDS articles that need review.
Let me know what you think 7804j (talk) 07:43, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
AfC notification: Draft:2026 North Dakota State Bison football team has a new comment

Agustín Coppel Luken
Hi JTtheOG. I found your name at WP:MEX, and I see you have experience with new article creation - would you mind taking a look at a draft in my userspace (User:ValeNoggy/Agustín Coppel Luken) and moving it to mainspace if you think it's ready? Feel free to do any cleanup you feel is necessary. I'm not putting it in mainspace myself because I work for Grupo Coppel. Thanks! ValeNoggy (talk) 16:20, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Orientación
Hola!
Carigval.97 (talk) 02:34, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
DYK for Ethan Sanchez
On 25 March 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ethan Sanchez, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ethan Sanchez was nearly named "Diego Maradona Sanchez" by his father, but his mother's anesthesia wore off in time for her to dismiss the idea?
