Undisclosed paid editing
This was blatantly created by undisclosed editors, I can't say much more than that. SmartSE (talk) 23:43, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- GS is a con-artist. Unsure how this is difficult to understand. ~2025-32967-09 (talk) 09:32, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Smartse I want to bring to your attention that an editor removed the UPE tag recently, and in my opinion, they did not address the tag in any meaningful way, it seems more like they did a general copyedit to phrase things more to their own personal liking (something I am guilty of sometimes, but I use accurate edit summaries to indicate that I'm copyediting, instead of claiming to address other maintenance issues).
- I actually came across this because their contributions to a different article (flagged today on the Teahouse) struck me as UPE and I was doing a quick check to see whether they've made normal contributions outside of that page. I'm still pretty new so not quite sure what to do here, but given the old school/insider track pages you've linked above (BEANS etc, which I know enough about to know I don't know anything lol), I feel like you're probably a much more savvy en.wiki editor than I am.
- Thanks for your time and your contributions here, and cheers! Sophiatries (talk) 05:15, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi. Thank you for your attention to this article. However, please note that after my edits, another editor also contributed and made additional corrections (which makes it quite different from the version edited by UPE, and therefore the tag was no longer relevant).
- For my part, all I did was write the article and publish it in the French version, since that was the version I initially started editing from (after which I made some updates and corrections to the English article). Jehandy (talk) 15:10, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- You are not a WP:CRYSTALBALL and had no way of knowing that when you removed it, so it's still inappropriate. The editor who made the most changes also added it back so they do not believe it's resolved. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 20:40, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- By this logic of "it's good now hence the previous removal of maintenance tag is justified", one can remove all maintenance tags because all problems will eventually be resolved in all articles. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 12:02, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- Here for the same reason, and I see @IrisChronomia is too.
- Per history the creator was a new user who skipped AfC, and I guess it wasn't noticed by NPP. They also haven't been active in two years so there's probably not much point in asking them. ChompyTheGogoat (talk) 20:43, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
